I wrote an insanely long post on this not long ago. I'm not sure what thread it's under anymore. I just wanted to point out that in addition to the newer "bald Zoot" footage shot on a black background, made for Nickelodeon, there was also a "Zoot with hat" footage shot with him in what actually...
Again, you're right: technically no photos are to be used on any unofficial website anywhere. Henson, as with most other companies, tends to look the other way as long as it's not all about the pictures or whatever.
I'd like to see the Macy's thing too. Who's "Mike" that was on The Today...
Did what? A very realistic puppet thing? I haven't seen the Prince episode, but it sounds worth seeing. (Keep in mind I'm not a kid anymore!) ;)
And for that matter, the Chinese puppet thing in the Senor Wences episode -- that scared me too. :p
Good point about the commercials -- I meant to mention that. When this site doesn't host them directly, they at least provide links to the company's website where they can be found. The site also hosted Kermit and Gonzo's announcement of MuppetFest on the Today Show last June. The company didn't...
Cookie,
In addition to bandwidth, another potential problem is the legality issue. Muppet Central owns no copyright from Henson; it's completely unofficial. The photos are allowed because no one's making any money off of them. Muppet Central Radio is only allowed because Phil went through much...
But, again -- Luke maintains that the UK version is LONGER, not shorter. So the time speed up wouldn't explain it; in fact, it would make even less sense. Luke, help us, please!
Ah-ha! So that's who that was. He appears in an episode of Donna's Day under the name Faversham. Kermit is looking for someone to be a guest at Donna's party, and Kermit calls up Piggy's house. Her butler "Faversham" answers and explains that she's away at a Friends of Fudge convention...
1. Favorite Character(s)
Gonzo and Rizzo, natch. Before it became overdone in later productions, their team-up here was a revelation to all. They were a team worthy of comparison with Ernie and Bert.
I also liked the Ghost of Christmas Past. She had an almost doll-like quality to her...
I've seen that sketch several times, and I'm pretty well positive it was Jim. Steve only performed Link once, and that was Muppet RaceMania. There was no attempt being made during TMS' days to give any of Jim's characters to Steve.
As a child, I was terrified of the old man dying -- and his ghost getting up and dancing! -- in the "Gambler" production number in the Kenny Rogers episode. He looked so realistic compared to the other Muppets. Ironically, I saw the episode again recently on Time-Life, and he looks so primitive...
Dear Santa,
Here's what I want:
--The Muppets to be in a good, new series on Fox, possibly set in the old theater with a mix of classic and new characters, that's smart and funny, that has genuine big-name guest stars instead of the people who make the long-distance commercial rounds. I...
What's weird (and cool) about this episode is that the Muppets seem to be largely a mix of obscure Season 1 TMS characters and JHH characters. You never saw that combination anywhere else. Also, it's the only time you hear Kevin Clash voice a lot of those TMS characters.
BTW, there was one...
Moulin Rouge is one of my favorites too. I was thrilled to see them include a satire of it. And it was perfectly cast, too.
"IAVMMMUCUGMAFAMDSFMMMCC" is a tounge-in-cheek abbreviation for It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie. The joke is that the abbreviation for the movie is nearly as...
All year long, TV Guide has been celebrating its 50th anniversary with retrospectives and top-50 lists. This week's issue (Dec. 14-20), their latest list is released: "50 Things to Love about TV," by their resident critic Matt Roush. (It's "to Love" on the cover, but "I Love" inside.) Included...
I wouldn't say it's a "never" proposition...but I'm sure that everyone's right in thinking that it has to do with the sale. Henson isn't announcing ANY new projects for certain until they know who the heck wants them. Why make further plans on a second MuppetFest, the new Fox series, or more...
