Jamie, I don't feel I'm assuming too much. On the contrary, I'm trying to be open to as many different interpretations as to why Jerry's characters sound different as possible. If they didn't use proper professional equipment to record Jerry's voice, then that's highly unusual for the Muppets...
Phil:
It *was* great! Brand new transfer of the film; the same one used for the DVD. They didn't use the new soundtrack, but they did use a cleaned-up version of the original Dolby. And both you and Foz are right: there IS a greater excitement when you have a bunch of people passionate about...
I didn't read the whole Tough Pigs thread, but it sounded like they were largely just guessing, rather than having any word from the Company itself. If that is Jerry, then he must have had a bad case of laryngitis or something.
"Jerry's voice when Fozzie runs through the showers"? Refresh my...
I'm all for it, Foz! Sounds like you da man. Let us know when and where to meet!
Emmy: What would you get for that amount of money? Jo-Jo from Secrets of the Muppets. :p
Re: Jerry "better":
You saw the Christmas movie, right? Either that wasn't him playing any of the roles (except for the announcer and possibly Statler), or something has happened to his voice. We're assuming for the time being that his abscence is illness-related, unless we hear otherwise...
LOL! Did you really get that response, Cory? I bet the server just saw the word "buyout" in your e-mail and that's why you got that automated response. Unless you're just yankin' our chain.
I sure hope they don't sell the Muppets on eBay. (shudder) Of course, if they sold the...
Oh! I forgot to add--either a DVD of the Live Show from last year's MuppetFest, with some of the highlights from the Q & A, or if the tape quality isn't good enough, then at least a Highlights from MuppetFest DVD that includes some clips from the live show.
C'mon, Henson and Creation. We WANT...
Dear [insert name of poster here],
Of course you deserve an original response. We are currently evaluating that idea.
Thanks for your input.

The Form Letter Company
:D ;) :p
Yes, but they were also teamed up in Mupp. Treasure Island AND Muppet Classic Theater AND Muppets from Space. No one was complaining about MCM. It was the other 10 years' worth of productions. ;)
Guess what? I got to see BTTF on the big screen Tuesday night! It was a "Meet the Writer" thing. Bob Gale (not Zemeckis) was there. They showed a nice, cleaned-up copy of the film, and Bob spoke before and after about the making of it. It was AWESOME! They were throwing BTTF watches into the...
Sorry, I can't tell you any more about 1970. My friend got his computer fixed, and I'm on my own computer now. So we're back in the present. Too bad I didn't think of your suggestion before I left -- I could have been working alongside Jerry and Richard at the start of their careers!
And I...
Chris, thanks for the info, but now I'm more confused than ever. I have the Mummenschanz episode from Time-Life, and there IS no follow-up. Why on Earth would they do that? Were they planning to make a season-ending cliffhanger, then realized they had no control over its airdate and just...
As a rule, I'm against adaptations because the Muppets have been stuck in that for years. But I think I'd pay good money to see the Muppet version of Moulin Rouge.
"Fortunately, right at the moment, a narcoleptic Argentenian fell through my roof. He was quickly followed by a midget dressed...
The creepy Muppet that you're thinking of is Uncle Deadly, and he would capture the Duke's creepiness. But he's also stuffy and comical, which would fit Sam better. The Argentinean -- well, Pepe might be funny in that role, but Sweetums would make a bigger fall when he passed out! LOL!
Alex, thanks for naming the episode. I do have a complete list somewhere of the Muppet Shows in the order that they were filmed; I'll try to post it here if I can find it again. That will tell us which episode followed Kaye Ballard, and if they ever followed up on it.
Welcome, Jareth's Angel! I'm a big Labyrinth fan too, as you can probably guess from my screenname. This is a Dinotopia thread, so to avoid confusion, you should probably post under one of the Labyrinth threads or start a new thread. But please feel free to discuss the film as much as you like...
Alex, I think you're getting confused about what I'm saying. While I did talk about the re-edits in the later paragraphs, my first paragraph is all about the ITC ending. I remember specifically the Zoot-with-hat ending from watching it as a child and from my friend's Star Wars tape. The two...
Sorry, Warrick -- don't know the answer to your question, since I don't have originial copies of the episodes (except for the aforementioned Star Wars ending). I do know (and this will answer your question, Alex) that Zoot was changed at least twice -- there are the two different versions used...
"DC is not on the radar for next year. Just don't see any Christmas elements in it and there's a wealth of material elsewhere."
Frogboy, do you mean for THIS year? The context is that it's not Christmassy, but you said it's not on the radar "for NEXT year" (my emphasis). While I agree about...
