Oooh. I forgot a very important one:
Jamie's menus.
So, friends are #1, Jamie's menus are #2, the VMMCM is #3, and the rest of the list follows as shown.
1. Muppet Christmas movie -- Not perfect, but more along the lines of what I've wanted to see than anything else.
2. The Macy's window display
3. The Muppets/Weezer video
4. MasterCard commercials
5. All the new merchandise. I can't afford most of it, but I'm glad quality stuff is being...
Great year-end wrap-up, Cory! I remember Luke did a similar one last year. I wanted to do one myself, but ya beat me to it. :) It's just as well -- when do I have the time for more writing projects?
2002 was a complete turnaround from the dismal 2001. From MuppetFest at the end of last year...
More amazing visual trickery from Jamie. And it's the first Muppets Take Manhattan menu! Woo-hoo! If this one had been part of the menus contest, it would have won my vote hands down!
I especially like the addition of Pepe on the Times Square ball in the middle. I think this is the George...
I vote for New York too. We could have people from Sesame stop by that wouldn't otherwise be able to attend. So much history of Henson is in New York.
Of course, for me it'd be better if they held it in Pasadena and LA again, since I live within driving distance of both now!
No, no, I mean it's actually part of the animation. When I see a Flash site where the animation happens so fast you can't even see it, that's a bad thing.
Trust me, there are plenty of things I console myself about on my computer, but this isn't one of them! :D
The menus always work fine with my 56k. In fact, they do take a few seconds to load up, but that's how it SHOULD be. The moment builds before the whole thing is unveiled.
I don't know what to make of Valentine. One minute he's saying the NBC movie was a good start and he wants to relaunch the franchise; the next he's saying he wants to make Muppet programs because people who grew up with the Muppets "have kids of their own now." In other words, he wants to make...
The Marleys were great, but when we got a new MCC menu with the Marleys AND everyone else...well, I guess that's why it didn't do as well as the others.
I know Jamie put a lot of work into the Cast Choir, so I was hoping that would get more votes. However, two other menus stole my heart...
Valentine's latest statement posted by Cory gives me new hope. It sounds like he knows what he's talking about, and he referenced the NBC movie, not Kermit's Swamp Years. Of course, the NBC movie was the most recent project, and it's all fairly typical PR stuff. But who knows? He didn't mention...
I feel... I feel... I'm not sure what I feel.
I never expected a 50% buyout. Does this really change anything at all? I hope Valentine was responsible for UPN during one of its successful periods.
I'm not worried about the "Kermit and the Muppets" statement. Kermit is the head of the...
Cory's mind is brewing ideas again. Can't wait to hear it! :)
I do hope the Creature Shop gets in on this fantasy craze before studios aren't willing to buy those kinds of scripts again for a while. I think a well-done sequel would be worthwhile, but most here disagree with me (see the "Do...
It was a miniseries from the Henson Company last spring. It got uniformly bad reviews, but because it got great ratings the first night (because ABC hyped it so much), ABC ordered a whole series based on it. Chalk that one up as a "duh" move. (I'm not picking on the show; I haven't even seen it...
Wow! I think your younger brother is worth more than $1.50. Of course, we haven't met yet. (LOL -- just kidding) But for a dime more, I suppose I could get you Seymour from Muppets Tonight!
Oh, I don't subscribe to wild theories. I just think that, most likely, Jerry was kidnapped by a renegade band of Scandavian tap dancers. ;)
(OK, that one even weirded me out!)
Thanks, Alex. I did flip through the episode guide, but it still doesn't explain anything. I can understand it if Floyd was just trying to change the theme, and Kermit wouldn't have it. But the way everyone is talking here, the band LEFT FOREVER at the end of the episode, with Kermit waving...
