Bear arrives on Disney+ The beloved series has been off the air for the past 15 years. Now all four seasons are finally available for a whole new generation.
As exciting as this is, I'd still want the DVDs but, this is better than nothing. If all the songs in season 2 are close-captioned on Disney+, that would be one advantage it has over the DVDs.
Shelby Kelley asked on the Barretta Brothers episode with Ryan Dillon: "Is there a certain weight that comes with performing a character that has so much history attached to it? Ryan with Elmo, Bill with Rowlf."
Ryan: It's hard, it took me a really long time to accept that you're not that other...
I recommend the both of you to check out the Twisted Toonz panel of voice actors reading the script for the Breakfast Club. Grey makes some great jokes in it, and Jess Harnell brings out a Wakko puppet when he reads as Wakko. You don't have to have seen Breakfast Club to find it entertaining...
Elmo asking if the story is over before finally telling the ending in the street story was funny. I really liked the nod to Leslie's plastic guinea pig Gail.
Matt Vogel: So Steve Whitmire and the Muppet Studio parted ways, and that left not just Kermit, but several other characters without a performer. And obviously Kermit is that key character, and there was an audition process that was overseen by the Muppet Studio and Brian Henson, with 20 people...
I liked seeing Fozzie's Monologue set from the Muppet Show. Seeing Animal get a lesson from Miss Nanny was nice too. I really like seeing Piggy get along with characters who aren't Kermit.
It seems in character for Piggy to steal her mom's necklace since Frank Oz has said part of her backstory is she had a bad relationship with her mom. The song Rowlf sang was catchy.
The only thing I can comment on is the bit with Elmo and a sun played by David and a seagull played by Johnny K. Nice short little bit that could have been the cold open if it was shorter.
Joe Hennes: So Kermit the Frog. Can we talk about how you got the role?
Matt Vogel: I don't know how much I can talk about.
Joe: Well, what was it like knowing you were going in for this audition?
Matt: I had no idea I was even gonna be called back. It was just an audio audition I think, and...
I liked all of Rizzo's attempts to teach Fozzie how to be a good brother. They replaced Baby Sam's picture with a baby version of Beauregard, so maybe a baby version of Sam is coming? Fozzie being overprotective of Rozzie was funny. Rozzie is cute.
I thought Cookie and Elmo were the funniest parts of the episode. Cookie trying to eat the house and Elmo just silently shaking his head or turning his head were just so funny. Who played the 3rd pig in the cold open? I know Stephanie and Eric were the first two. I kinda wanted more of Hansel...
These videos of yours are a ton of fun! I hope we don't have to wait for a whole year for future installments of this series. Just wanna correct you, Johnny T's last name is pronounced tar-tag-lee-uh, and to hear the first part of Leslie's last name pronounced correctly, go to the 11:57 mark of...
To quote episode 25 of Getting Felt Up a puppetry podcast:
Kirk Thatcher: We got so many letters about how horrible it was that Scooter was dancing in leather shorts and just how horrible the world was without Kermit. We were like "Yeah, that's the point!"
Nate Begle: That was the point, you're...
The fact that the Rock and Rhyme DVD has a preview for the Wish Pickle special makes me hope that a DVD is still on its way. It would suck if the HBO Max deal is preventing them from making DVDs for specials.
