You're just gonna have to get used to the fact that in the 2020's, computers are gonna be used to make things that would be impossible to accomplish practically easier. Just be thankful that the characters are puppets and not CGI.
Judging from the first episode, the series looks really fun. There were lots of good one liners. I like that the show has musical numbers thanks to Evan. Evan is kinda like a family-friendly version of Goofer from Happytime Murders, which I like. I had fun voice-chasing the puppeteers, Allan...
When I asked Rick if he could remember Blue Bird's voice actor, he said Jon Stone wanted him to have a very clear heroic sounding voice. I don't know if the voice Rick used on set wasn't heroic enough.
Thanks to my dad being kind enough to let me use his credit card, here are my thoughts. The cold open with Bert only mentioning oatmeal and the oatmeal puppet played by Tyler was funny. I liked having Abby be the person for Gonger and Cookie to get food from, complete with them singing and Elmo...
Even though HBO Max is a monthly subscription, I've had to renew my subscription every week to watch the episodes when they premiere at 3 AM, and it maxed out my credit card. Until I get more money on it, I'm gonna have to wait for PBS to air these. The only thing I can talk about is the cooking...
Joe Hennes: Can you name two people who worked in Hooper's Store?
Jeff Dunn: Alan and Mr. Hooper.
Joe: Those are the easy ones.
Cookie Monster: How bout Mr. Handford?
Joe: Yeah!
Cookie: Remember him?
Joe: Deep cut.
Cookie: How about Mike?
Joe: Mike?! (he laughs)
David playing Cookie laughs...
The bit in Monster Foodies with Cookie giving a fake cough to avoid talking about the missing mozzarella was funny. I liked the ending of the episode with Elmo doing some impressive rapping.
Elmo: Where is Alan? We have been waiting for a milkshake for about 4-and-a-half hours. Alan! Okay, how about Chris? Chris!
Joe Hennes: Where's Mr. Hooper? Oh.
Elmo: You had to go there, didn't you?
Joe: I did, I'm sorry.
Elmo: You had to go there! Where's Mr. Handford?
(Joe and Ryan Roe crack...
I really liked the song Zoe and Rosita sang. Kinda gave me a Bear in the Big Blue House vibe. Plus it's nice to hear Jen sing a full song as Zoe for once. I liked how in the Foodie Truck bit, Cookie tried to start a discussion about the Dino Dip after eating it, and Gonger reminded him of the alarm.
I'm so upset I wasn't informed about this so I could record it on my DVR. Matt is a dang good singer. Here's the whole episode and Kermit's backstage interview: , If someone could edit all the stuff with the snail and Kermit into one video, that'd be great.
Even though you might not have liked most of the characters or voices Brian did, hopefully you don't have any disrespect to him as a person. From the interviews that I've seen with him, he seems like a funny guy.
Ryan Roe: Elmo, what's your favorite website?
Elmo: Yeahbaby.org!
Joe Hennes: What about ToughPigs.com? That's our website.
Elmo: It's okay. See puppets, it's an acquired taste, because sometimes they can be a little obnoxious, a little annoying.
Joe: Could they?
Elmo: Sometimes.
Ryan: So you're...
