Actually, Britian gets far cooler Muppet stuff on DVD than we do. You've got more episodes of The Muppet Show available; you've got specials like Of Muppets and Men; your Muppet movies are all in widescreen. Personally, I'd take that over one Piggy commercial any day. ;)
As for the commercial...
Lady Camilla, sorry to hear about you losing your job. It's been a rough year for a lot of us, I guess. But glad to hear you got such a great stash of presents!
Based on the first 3 DVDs you listed...hmm, a Johnny Depp fan, are we? ;)
LOL! Erin, I think it's awesome that your whole family gave LOTR gifts to each other. Talk about gifts everyone can love! I hope you get to see the new movie soon--it's my favorite of the three.
I got the Indiana Jones Trilogy DVD boxed set. Woo-hoo! I watched the documentary on Raiders last...
Hey, all,
In case you haven't noticed it yet, another of Jamie's A-plus Christmas menus--this one featuring all of the Muppet universes (TMS, Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock)--is now up. Go take a look!
J.P. Grosse also appears in several crowd scenes in MCC (which I just watched again yesterday).
Since Kermit didn't flatly say that J.P. died, I think we might still see him again at some point in the future. Even if that was what they were thinking, the Muppets have multiple birth/origin...
Carlylia,
The best way to get an internship is to go to Henson.com and look for the internship possibilities. I've seen them listed on there before, though I no longer remember exactly where.
As far as I know, none of us have a real "in" with the Henson Company (someone please correct me...
That is weird, that they'd put all that effort into making a nice set and then get an important Henson detail like that wrong.
Oh, well, still looks like a great set overall.
New look of the forum
Just wanted to say I finally got a good chance to see how the new forum REALLY looks. (Since returning to IL, I hadn't been using my computer but my parents', and there's something seriously jazzed up with all the colors on my parents' computer.) The new look is very...
There are so many things I love about this menu:
--The way Gonzo's eyes widen when you run the mouse over him.
--The way the Spirit of Christmas Present doesn't move away like the other icons when you move the mouse away...he disappears.
--The glowing lamppost.
I could go on. Thanks...
Go to the "Wanted" section of this forum under "Collectibles" and post your request. I'm sure someone will be willing to trade with you, or at least make a copy for you if you just pay for the tape and postage. Whatever you do, don't let some slimeball rip you off on eBay!
Actually, I think that's better for you. Why pay all that money just to see the trailer? I agree that it would have meant more money for WB if they had waited. But I don't think people should have to pay money to see a movie that they don't even want to see.
When a studio deliberately makes...
Well, that's what everyone thought about the Rocky Mountain special, and we ended up getting that. So never give up hope. :)
Pod2314: I don't know Columbia TriStar's mailing address, but I'm sure it's on Sony's website. Good luck!
The storyboard stuff sounds cool, and I like the look of the inserts. Plus, as I mentioned before, the cover (and the menu screen) is one of the best I've ever seen. But to know there's over an hour of cut footage, and they didn't bother to put even just a few deleted scenes on there...ugh!!
The joke was that Kermit is technically "topless" -- i.e., except for his collar, he isn't wearing anything. Just as Mickey Mouse is technically "topless." The Muppets have done jokes like that before, but I think the problem was with the execution on this one. Most people (including myself)...
