    Save the Muppets

I agree, Phillip. But remember that people here at MC said some nasty, hurtful, and unfair things about TPers first. That thread was a reaction to this one. I think this is a very touchy subject, and I agree that the whole matter should probably be dropped.

    Statler & Waldorf on movies.com

Dil, there's no need to shout. I was talking to others about the issue of who plays the characters on the show. Your question is valid too, but you can ask politely.

    Save the Muppets

Well said, OverUnderAround! We all get worked up emotionally about our beloved Muppets from time to time. If I said anything that was over the line here or on TP, I too apologize.

    Statler & Waldorf on movies.com

Seeing as how Brian Henson was recently quoted as saying, regarding what the Muppets have planned for Disney, "Right now nothing is in production," I find it hard to believe that all these major things are going on behind the scenes. And I'll gladly list my source for that...

    Earl Kress Weblog

Great blog, Earl! Smig mentioned this one; that's how I found out. Terrific story about your Looney Tune that no one's ever seen. The animation is beautiful - this sure looks like it would be lots better than that Baby Looney Tunes series that finally did hit the air (it was completely...

Behind the Scenes of "The Muppet Movie"

While I can't speak for WoE himself, MinorMuppetz, I can assure you that usually, the want to write for a particular production or franchise outweighs the ability to get into the necessary loop! ;) It's just not that easy. You may be interested to know that WoE has written for a lot of...

    Retro Junk

Hey, folks! Long time no write. I was just wondering: has anyone here been to RetroJunk.com? It's a great site filled with video of classic TV shows, commercials, movie previews, etc. I just spent several hours watching intros for Heathcliff, ALF, Growing Pains, Real Ghostbusters, Small...

Disney buys rights to Narnia movies

Disney said the movie needed to make at least $60 million on its first weekend to get a sequel, and it made $65 million. So we'll at least get one more movie out of it. I hope we get all 7! :excited:

Disney buys rights to Narnia movies

Wow, it has been a while since we posted in this thread, huh? :smirk: I thought the film was very good. My only gripe is that the kids could have been portrayed a little braver--they didn't come across so wimpy in the book. But the visuals, the casting, the faithfulness to the original...

Behind the Scenes of "The Muppet Movie"

LOL! That is funny...and strange. Wonder how Mark's name got up there? Especially since, for all non-speaking background puppeteering, it should be listed as "Additional Puppeteer," not "Ernie." But hey, if anyone's going to get credit for playing Ernie, it should be our old buddy Earl!

    Ideas for Muppet books thread

Wow. A lot of impressive ideas, and very well thought-out, MinorMuppetz! Here's what I would imagine for your idea on the day-to-day book for the Muppets: 1936-1954: Jim's Formative Years 1955-1968: Birth of the Muppets (covers Sam and Friends, Rowlf on Jimmy Dean, TV commercials...

    Ideas for Muppet books thread

Oh, absolutely. Go to your nearest bookstore or library, and see how many biographies are unathorized. Again, "unathorized" doesn't have to mean "sleazy" (though admittedly it can). All it means is that the writer isn't under someone's thumb, being told what they can and can't write. You may...

    Ideas for Muppet books thread

I would like an unathorized book. The authorized books are neat because of all the photos that could be included. The Works is like that. But Henson had complete control over the material, and could say, "Don't print that if you want our stuff." An unathorized book -- even including the Jim...

    Ideas for Muppet books thread

Those are great ideas, MinorMuppetz. I'd definitely buy the episode guide, Muppet Show Book 2 (however unlikely it is at this point), and The Visual Guide. I'd like to see a book about the post-Jim years. Of Muppets and Men covers the TMS years pretty well; Jim Henson: The Works covers up...

Behind the Scenes of "The Muppet Movie"

Holy smokes. I just read this thread for the first time. I think it took two hours to read the whole thing! Thanks again, WOE. Your story is so incredibly awesome! And I'm glad I got to meet you in person too. :D

Awesome and impressive list of credentials, Earl! But you didn't mention your most important credit, at least to Muppet fans -- that in a Muppet film, you were a background puppeteer who got to perform one of the most famous characters ever? And that your screenname gives us a clue...

A big holla to my friends from the Muppeteer auditions

Thanks, Kev. (shiver) That Fozzie is way scarier than even the Frankenstein monster!

A big holla to my friends from the Muppeteer auditions

Oh, yes! Penny, e-mail us too! BTW, Kev, is that Frankenstein one still the Fozzie picture they're talking about? That one can't be Fozzie--it doesn't even have ears! Also, I'm starting a fund to help anexoric puppets in Hollywood. P.S. FOZZIE HORROR!
