I saw these as Muppet Wiki posted the links. Great PSAs! I do like that Grover was chosen to be the lead for these. And it's nice to see the other Sesame Street characters in the background, including some international characters.:super:
Well, it's nice to have Challenge of the Gobots out on DVD too- there are some fans of the show out there.:)
I remember it being around but I was definitely much more into Transformers as a kid- though I do think I had at least one of the Gobots toys and maybe a coloring book at some point...
Okay- thanks for the breakdown on that.
And yeah- I'm thinking Warner Bros. will be doing some more Smurfs releases soon- there is supposed to be a new DVD set of episodes coming soon....
I was thinking of those songs as being "New Wave" style parodies in general, like how Weird Al Yankovic sometimes does songs that parody a song style more so than any particular song. But I guess that might be stretching it...
Christmas specifically celebrates Jesus coming to Earth to be the Savior. (Matthew 1:21)
Hannukah and Kwanzaa have nothing to do with it. Judaism does not believe in Jesus as the Messiah, so why would Sesame Street even mention their opinion on Christ?
Kwanzaa is not even a religious holiday...
That's my general opinion of a lot of the revamped '80s series on The Hub- the new My Little Pony, Pound Puppies and G.I. Joe and Transformers series... nice that they have new series, but I don't think they're really anything quite as good as the original 1980s classics.
Just wanted to make...
I agree with heralde- one thing that actually helps give the Resurrection account credibility is the very fact that it is women who first hear about Jesus' Resurrection and are entrusted with this message to tell the other disciples. (As Jesus says, to tell His brothers- which is signficant to...
Jesus had to be fully human in order to be the perfect sacrifice for the sins of the world. He was fully God and fully man at the same time. He experienced every temptation that we face, yet was without sin.
I think He was a celibate, single man, based on Matthew 19:1-12. I don't see how being...
Jesus definitely did more than just sympathize with the poor. He helped them. Just look at the account of when He fed the 5000 with two fish and 5 loaves of bread. His disciples told him to send the folks away so they could get their food but Jesus told them- "You feed them." And though all they...
They did a masterful job with this- I love it! I've seen Christmas Eve on Sesame Street probably a gazillion times and I still love watching it all the time- yes, every year at Christmas but also just whenever during the year I'm in the mood for some Christmas fun. I don't care- I love Christmas...
I remember those Hi-Top videos too.:) By the way, you know that The Hub now has a new "Pound Puppies" cartoon airing, right?
http://www.hubworld.com/pound-puppies/shows/pound-puppies
As for episodes on DVD, besides the movie- "Pound Puppies and The Legend of Big Paw", at least the pilot...
It looks like the "Hill Street Blues" parody- "Hill Street Twos"- will be on there as well. At least I think that's what that sketch is in the picture of Ernie and Grover in the top right hand corner.:p:super:
That cover looks great! I'm looking forward to this release a lot.
I hope it will...
If when you go to any kind of theatre (i.e. opera, ballet, play etc.)- no matter what it looks like, you imagine the Muppet Theater in your mind with Statler and Waldorf in the balcony heckling the performance.:boo:
"The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" - because it's totally awesome! I LOVE the C.S. Lewis series of books- "The Chronicles of Narnia" is such a great series- I read them as a kid and recently reread them- they are great stories that also convey such great truth. As a...
Really? I like The Dukes of Hazzard just fine. (The TV show that is- I'm fine with The Dukes spin-off cartoon too. But the movies are horrible.)
But it's not like it's my favorite show in the world either- but I think it's good, clean fun.:)
