The only way I learned to get bullies was to stand up to them.
I agree, bullies are a pathetic lot who were most likely abused themselves, and feel justified abusing others.
The two times I stood up to bullies and actually beat the snot out of them surprised me the most. I'm not a fighter by any...
I'll be using it for a month or so, until I'm cleared to go back to work. But I'm not getting rid of this cane, it's beautiful.
Plus someday when I'm old(er) and need a cane, I'll be set.
A guy at church gave me a new cane. It's not like an old fart's wooden cane, this thing is elegant. Polished black metal, gold tips, and where you rest your hand, it looks like a giant blue diamond. (Okay, it's glass, but it gives off this neat blue glow when you hold it up to the light)...
Well here's the good news. A lot of us here like a lot of stuff about yourself more than you kinda hate a lot of stuff about yourself.
You still come out ahead! 8)
Would you be brave enough to watch the 1976 version of Carrie? (If you haven't already)
There's one scene with John Travolta (already a teen idol from "Welcome Back Kotter" but just before "Saturday Night Fever" and megastardom),
a bunch of pigs, a sledgehammer, a bucket to collect the blood...
So did I, and my connection with him goes back way further than the Cosby Show.
Sesame Street, Electric Company, Fat Albert. If you were a child of the 70's, this was your Holy Trinity.
In the mid 60's, he had a string of stand-up albums that were untouchable. Despite the title, "To Russel, My...
I'd hope the kitty moves because a kettle of scalding hot water is coming.
So, I guess the Unstoppable Trio (you, @Froggy Fool, @LittleJerry92) won your non-event last month by default?
On the subject of Bill Cosby...
the only reason he's not in jail right now is because although he's been sentenced, his lawyers can still make an appeal.
If his appeal gets overturned, THEN and only then will he trade his sweaters for an orange jumpsuit.
The only way he might get any mercy at...
I was done with school before most of you were even born. 8)
But in those ancient times we started school the Wednesday after Labor Day. And with all the snow days we racked up we didn't get out til late June.
Favorite car you drove?
Or, if money was no object, your dream car?
Me personally? '65 Mustang convertible with a Carroll Shelby engine. Candy apple red.
We had a bird feeder in the backyard, and one of the neighbors' cats once nabbed a blue jay. Sweet little kitty killing a bird and eating its guts.
Same kitty that turns up his nose at certain brands of cat food at home. Gimme a raw bird, but not this dry cereal!
What did you have on? It must've been impressive.
I remember when the Naked Cowboy in Times Square got away with just a pair of righty whities and a smile.
