"Of Mice and Men" (the book) -- Your Thoughts?

Of Mice and Men in the Movies IMDB lists three film versions-- a silent film from 1916, the 1939 version with Burgess Meredith and Lon Chaney Jr., and the 1992 version directed by Gary Sinise. Quaid played Lenny in a made-for-television version in '81.

Are you using a Mac? I can't get them either (and I've never had problems with the nanco site before).

    Anyone else here Beatles Fans?

I think all of Paul's tours for the past 10-15 years have included a lot of Beatles songs. The set won't change much show to show, so you can pretty much count on the 'best of.'

    Anyone else here Beatles Fans?

I saw Paul in '89 and he was great then. The audience always gets into it. Paul loves to tour and that translates to the audience.

Your Thoughts: Sesame Street Season 34

Frank taped some skits for Season 34. He didn't do all the the new stuff for his characters, but he did some. I don't know if he was in the studio for a day or two or a week or what-- maybe someone else will fill in that information or we'll get to play guessing games all season trying to...

The foam book? how long to recieve

I ordered it from Amazon a year or so ago and it came pretty quickly. I don't remember exactly, but it was within two weeks and may have been within a week.

    Anyone else here Beatles Fans?

Believe me, I know! But it's been a few years since I've been to a Ringo concert, actually it's been a few years since I've been to any concert (that's what happens when you get old-- and have to pay a sitter). Just wish I'd gotten a chance to see Harrison live. *sigh*

Your Thoughts: Sesame Street Season 34

Great start to the new season! The whole thing felt a bit flashier to me, but I can't really pin point why-- have to watch some more episodes. It was great to see so much of the human cast all at once. Budget constraints has made that a rarity in recent years. Karaoke was a lot of fun...

At least five, possibly more. :o

    Interesting Gulf War News

I'm it. Not gunna give me much to work with here, are you Jamie? Okay, it... the It girl. Clara Bow. Silent movies. Flappers. Prohibition. Scott and Zelda. Which gets us to the Depression, which brings us around to WWII, which gets us back to war and (sort of?) connects this all...

    Interesting Gulf War News

How about 'vigilance'? As in: the price of liberty is eternal vigilance. *sigh* Filibuster was better. But I thought it was tag-team moderating, I didn't know we were competing. Jamie, was there a memo about this? I didn't get the memo. :zany:

    Anyone else here Beatles Fans?

Try inter-library loan for the other albums. Yes, I think you could say I'm a Beatles fan-- two pilgrimages to Liverpool, and I've seen Ringo in concert more times than I want to admit. ;) Actually, I met Ringo about five or six years ago. Rubber Soul has always been my favorite album...

    Interesting Gulf War News

There was an article in my local paper this morning about natural dietary supplements, herbs, roots etc. (Stay with me here, there's a connection coming) The article focused on all the downsides. It talked about some pretty scary side effects that people frequently don't know about when...

    Michael Jeter Died

I don't know what Sesame Street will do, but Michael Jeter was the second Other Mr. Noodle. I think it is possible they would recast again. I get the impression he wasn't sick. Sounds like he was HIV+ but healthy. They are doing an autopsy to determine cause of deaht-- that isn't...

    Sesame Place Topiaries

I assume you take your daughter.... I may be taking mine this summer. What age would you say is best for the park? It's a big trip for us, so I don't want to do it if she's too young to enjoy it. Thanks!

    Interesting Gulf War News

Please make an effort to keep posts polite. This is a serious issue and most of us are passionate about our views on the war. Given that we are all on edge we should make an extra effort to be considerate of one another-- especially when we disagree. It seems to me we have ample evidence that...

Re: Re: Avatars, Sigs and Political Messages Of course you can! Just thanked Ryan because he was the first to jump in. But thank you, Sarah, for being second. This thread is definitely still open for input....
