Good god, I wouldn't even subject a puppet to an appearance on that show. Terms like "obnoxious" and "insipid" simply don't do it justice. Three vapid people with absolutely nothing (of interest) to say talk incessantly and vituperatively. Sheer video torture. A new low even for the Fox network...

I remember watching Arsenio Hall some time back when Jim Henson was on. He puts on Rowlf and Arsenio says, "Hey, Rowlf!" and Rowlf says, "Arsenio....! Son of a *****!" The audience went "Whoaaa..." and Rowlf says, "No, no! It's a compliment when it's from a dog!"

In other words, it's in The Timeslot of Death. On the other hand, if people are in the mood for such a thing (and nostalgia is VERY big just now), it could do quite well. We'll see. ;)

Yeah. Well, let's see. I saw "The Santa Clause 2" last week. The CGI-created reindeer were pretty effective. However, the puppets (in particular Comet) were lame as ****. Sophisticated as it was, it practically screamed "I'm a puppet!" IMO, the only thing Henson has to fear in getting into CGI...

I can assure you he will not. He has a reputation to protect, after all. Besides, David hates puppets. I remember the show where he put down the Roger Rabbit movie, saying he couldn't condone "yet another puppet movie." Then he asked Paul Schaffer, "It's puppets, isn't it?" And when he was told...

Fridays are a lousy timeslot for TV shows. Too bad. Maybe NBC viewed the movie, didn't think much of it and so it's being dumped where it can't do any harm...

Yeah, I saw that. And I liked it. Piggy was quite charming. And it was nice to see how people reacted to her. Who knows - maybe someday the Henson gang will pull their heads out of their butts and realize that, hey, people don't necessarily dislike this character. And if they ever did, whose...

Uhhh...you dont' think this is an advertising gimmick? in case you didn't know, the Muppets DO have a new line of figurines for sale and there's a TV Christmas movie coming up. That's why the balloon's in the parade. Shill, shill, shill. ;)

I hope that Piggy puppet shown in the article isn't the one they used for the commercial. Bad hair. The face looks like a pink blob. Isn't there anyone at Henson Inc. these days that can make a good Piggy puppet?
