LOL! Same here. ANYTHING even remotely relating (even in satiric jest) to Nazi Germany is strictly banned. As soon as I saw the title I was like "did Kermit give what people thought was a seig heil salute?"
oh whoah! i just watched this video. Since my family couldnt make it, I made a dvdr with all the fan filmed footage and blogs relating to the Carnegie performance.
I wish people on here woulda had a 'post your mug' before hand thread
1. Youre alive!
2. We're used to these sudden shakeups by now, but it seems like the ball is rolling too much now for any of these deck reshufflings to affect anything
Oh man ya shoulda said hey. What do you look like? Im sure others were there I didnt recognize or were too shy.
Yeah the show (as in THE show) was either last minute or kept under wraps. Im just grateful flights were so cheap pre summer.
Yeah I shook my friends with my wikipedia like zeal...
Drtooth I agree. I heard a rumor that these weren't at all built for the Carnegie hall show, but for current plans JHC has for them. My spidey sense tells me, that unlike the rebuilt 2008 Red...these are meant for filmed segments and not simply live appearances.
I would not at all be surprised...
The part where Williams spoke so fondly of Jim, and seeing those quotes...and then the whole rainbow connection part...really made me tear up. Im so glad Im old enough to have enjoyed every moment of his work in the 80's, but I feel this world sure could use Jim today more than ever and Im glad...
I got from your original post that your instinct was saying none of them would show up.
I just assumed the best way to meet some of the performers/crew would be outside Carnegie itself post 3:30 show. I had to leave by 3, so wasnt able to stick around but cool to see some of us here got to meet...
aww nevermind, I searched "bloomberg muppets" and the whole thing came up. very cool. Yeah walking around NYC for a week, I was thinking 'I think its about time for the Muppets to retake Manhattan' as well as how safe the place is
Yeah there was no official filming, and the staff were very strict with telling people to stop filming. But, the entire thing does seem to have been filmed overall by a few people(tho not all of it closeup) I could barely see anything (bad eye sight/very top nose bleed balcony) so its like...
Well yeah I mean, that's what it simply was billed as. An "evening of the pops paying instrumental tribute to the magic of Jim Henson" or something. I mean, hey, cool...but fly 3000+ miles for cool? Not really. Even if it was another Kermit with Elmo and Zoe or Gonzo ribbon cutting a library...
My mom, the biggest Muppet fan Ive ever met, was tearing up too...and she was only on the phone(called her so she could hear during the rainbow connection/magic store medley)
It was a thrill seeing so many families. It's definitely solidified my feeling that I just could never date or marry...
I wonder if anyone else traveled far? Over 3000 miles for me, but it was worth it!
Yeah I was a bit bummed I didnt get to meet too many other muppet fans. I did get to meet and hang with (gah, forget his handle...bob pizza dude?) and I met the guys who run tough pigs. I made a post of how we...
Saw it with my own eyes, couldnt believe I was witnessing Wembley and Uncle Matt for the first time in over a decade.
Does this signify something significant in the long exhaustive wait for new Fraggle anything? (viral videos, shorts, the movie, etc)
Where the heck was this? I was in NYC all last week and weekend and didn't hear of this. Then again I apparently also missed Dr Who filming in Central Park. Also why is the video now deemed private?
Thing is, after spending 7 days walking what seemed like every square inch of NYC, I can say it...
I'm sad more of a big deal wasn't made before hand for this event. I honestly don't think people realized how special and insane this thing would be. Or the fact that YES, this really did feature a tonnnnnnnn of Muppets, from the Muppet show to Sesame Street to rebuilt Fraggle Rock and Emmet...
I dont think they allow tours of Sesame Workshop, so probably wont go there. Would be cool to see where the old Henson place was tho!
Aw Im going to the Guggenheim and Museum of Modern Art, not sure I'll have time or money for the Met. I'd love to tho! And I love Natural History museums.
Oh...
Hot on the heels of the ninja turtles, robocop, akira and back to the future remake news comes this...
Ha, ok I made that as a late april fools joke. But seriously, it seems like the gloves are off and absolutely *anything* is being remade, rebooted, etc. Even that Battleship movies looks...
Is this a thread about you? You're the #1 purveyor of over the top wall-o-text reactionary posts...and thats why youve been my fave poster for 10 years going ! :)
Muppet fan referencing on the commentary, niiiice. Still think they should have had Walter reference or be seen looking up Muppet fandom sites online in the movie, but a small complaint
I've been doing webcomics online for over a decade. And yeah, when I spent hundreds of dollars on nice banner ads on other video game/webcomic/nerd sites, there was a lot of immediate results. Sometimes up to 12,000 unique ip visitors a day. But now I like the whole magic of "if you build...
