I loved the A story and chemistry, didn't care for the obligatory Fozzie B-story(please tell me Fozzie is every b-story focus?) I liked Sam's crush on Janice. The part where Sam is doing a karaoke devoted to Janice, but Janice is on her phone is so spot on regarding society today. Scooter...
To me its not about sly edgy jokes or pop culture references, its the chemistry magic and writing and this show more and more every week is proving it has all of that. All the jokes could be about maple syrup and I think itd still work. I see a lot of subtle complexities which frankly just feel...
Modern Family and Goldbergs are the only shows on non premium tv that make me laugh hard every week. But add Muppets to the list, and its the trifecta. CBS on the other hand is tumbleweed city
Goldbergs is probably the most "wholesome" tv show on tv, very g/lite pg, but for someone who...
Simply amazing. And for me the Fozzie plot with Kermit had so many allusions and shades of Kermit and Fozzies dynamic from the 1979 Muppet movie
Awww, and now we have FOUR plots per episode! so crazy! *throws fish everywhere*
Tonight's episode was one of the greatest non movie/special Muppety things Ive seen in the last two decades. And I thought last weeks episode was something special. We have the most special bond between Kermit and Fozzie I personally havent seen since the Muppet movie...and the scene with Fozzie...
Yeah the fact the Muppets apparently now have physical intimacy with humans is a bit...weird to get used to. A little Greg the Bunny-ish.
But...
What I hope is seeing interaction with the humans who work in the office, which hasn't happened yet. This episode definitely tho felt like an episode...
I was absolutely blown away by this episode, and thought it was miles better than both the pilot and test pilot. I was actually laughing this time, and just being in awe of the densely packed craft of every scene. So much is going on in the background you need to watch it a couple times to...
Still bizarre to see so many fuddy duddy grownup adults even younger than me en masse expressing outrage over Facebook and Twitter over how the Muppets have sold out and are now a "raunchy" comedy. When the heck did we become so puritanical? If in 2015 the "h" word and mild sexual inuendo...
Thanks Phil! SPREAD THIS LINK AROUND FOLKS! On facebook, twitter, emails, everywhere ya can. I also recommend clicking the link even if you've seen it already, just to have an extra viewcount ABC can see.
Seriously cool of ABC to put the show online right after it airs. thanks again phil...
The Pepe/Rizzo dynamic was completely missing from the recent two films, so I was quite excited to not only see it back in full force with this new tv series...but with Rizzo and Yolanda.
But....will Bean Bunny ever be back? I literally think I'd faint if they brought
in for a cameo Digit or...
Wow, here we are! The Muppets back on tv in full force(surprised this isn't a 40 page thread already, heh) The advance reviews from news sites are right; this show is quite a technical achievement. The camera movement, editing, digital rod removal, busy background characters, nuanced movements...
I remember how super into/excited I was with the Jim Henson Hour and the upcoming Muppet Vision 3d, and like that....Jim was gone. I remember being 12 crying my eyes out at hearing how the closest thing to any icon I had known had passed out. 25 years later it still stings. Yet I can't help but...
So insane that this show was pitched in march and filmed just the other week. Never would have imagined. And Prady is right; TMS was a vaudville variety show as it was spoofing the late 60s/70s tv style of shows. And here in 2015 that's exactly what it's doing. You have Big Bang Theory and what...
The people behind the OFFICIAL Disney blog have seen the first episode of "The Muppets" for ABC television. They say how Muppets Oz sucked, that Muppets Tonight missed the mark...and they say the pilot alone is nothing short of amazing. Funny, modern, meta. They even heavily reference the Jim...
Hoping if the TV show takes off, Disney can make a smaller line of Muppet figures in the scale/way they made those amazing 2011-2013 Muppet Star Wars figures. Never understood why they didn't make a regular line with those.
For some reason it's only $7 in HD on Amazon(you do need a credit card) and you can watch it up to a month. Im not sure why its $13 on itunes.
But Im pretty sure most people on here could spare $7 for such an amazing film? Plus the way the Amazon pricing works, a lot of it goes to the filmmakers.
Oh absolutely. I'd dare say this is the biggest Muppet news story since 1997/1998 when I first started going on Muppet websites.
Also exciting reading that excerpt from Baretta's post; talk about the ultimate stars aligning braintrust(ok maybe even more so if Oz came back, but contemporary...
No words :)
It's not copying. It's the new format. It's like saying Modern Family is a copy of The Office since it has the same mockumentary look.
I also am seeing comments on other sites how people are up in arms its not a variety show...well, that Lady Gaga and the Muppets thing was a...
