Hey hackdroot! Great work. Though I've never seen the Martians from Sesame Street in person, it looks to me like they are very basic rod puppets. One rod goes up to the eyes on top of the head and the other rod goes to the center bottom lip. Hope that helps!
Thanks guys! You're making me blush over here. It's been fun (and a lot of work) building these characters. I can't wait to see them brought to life by the performers. Steevee has got a few little "robot" surprises packed in that I can't wait to see in action in the final production.

Mrhogg, the eyebrow mech is made of materials you can find in any hobby shop, brass tubing, brass and copper rods, springs, etc. The first step in adding any mech to a puppet head (at least in my experience) is to make sure the area where the mech is to be located has a hard skull...

It's not as nice as the old antron, but you can still get decent seam coverage. I'm working on another character, a witch, who's head is completely covered...
