I honestly don't think there's anything wrong with using plot cliches, as long as you do them well.
Now when an individual writer starts becoming known for certain cliches that can become a problem (i.e. The Stephen King Drinking Game, hehe).
When I was a kid I was fascinated with amnesia plot...
That's very well put actually. :)
Aw thank you; you as well! :) Well for the fans' sakes I don't want to go into too much of a rant or anything, I'll just keep it simple. Forgive me for going all hippie but I just got a disturbing vibe from the whole thing (not kidding about the nightmares...
I honestly don't think they are that similar. The bare bones plot is similar but it's also a plot that hundreds of movies have used. And beyond that I don't see any real significant similarities between the two films.
Very true, I do get a little annoyed when people talk about how intolerant America supposedly is. No we're not perfect but let's have some perspective here, people! This isn't 1950 and we HAVE come a long way. :)
I agree, that would have brought it all together. But I despise the all too common storyline of the stick in the mud girlfriend who scolds the boyfriend for liking Science Fiction or the Muppets. Why would anyone in their right mind even want that kind of person as their girlfriend? It's...
Aww, it's OK you're not a troll, lol. I personally feel the opposite, that the 2011 film had things sorely absent from LTS, but we all have our own opinions. :) And I don't even want to pick on LTS particularly because I don't think it's terrible or anything.
That's true, I think we all do that at times. Characters can certainly be influenced by the actors playing them, but that doesn't mean they're twins.
Certainly, if you study Hollywood history, a great many gay actors were able to play straight characters very convincingly, with the public...
I did think there was just a little too much plot and not enough Muppet antics. There were definitely moments of spark though, like Gonzo on the roof, lol. There needed to be more of that. :)

on your mark get set to start.
And head on out to try to reach your dreams
You've got to...
Try the impossible
Dare the incredible
Climb aboard and take a ride...
OK Part 2!
How dated that Piggy has to find a payphone to contact Kermit, lol.
How could Fozzie have been completely unaware that his mother was friends with Statler and Waldorf? I mean it seems like the kind of thing they'd love to taunt him with! Lol
Doc: "Well we didn't know any of you a...
OK, I'm watching my new VHS of Muppet Family Christmas right now!
Animal: Oh...pig... :halo:
For some reason I adore the shot of Kermit talking on the phone with Piggy, it's such a sweet and sensitive moment.
You know, even though I know Robin is Kermit's nephew, I kinda miss him being Sir...
I honestly don't even think that's an entirely correct label for Muppet Show Scooter. That's still more Muppet Baby Scooter. Muppet Show Scooter was the young kid anxious to get into show business by any means necessary, including using his uncle as a reference, and even if it meant starting at...
