I'm not saying the original Chimpmunks were Shakespeare or anything but they were both well written and amusing children's cartoons. These movies? They frighten me...::shivers::
Plus the 1987 movie The Chipmunk Adventure was ten times more sophisticated than these (again) abominations, lol.
I'm really glad you decided to accept counseling and that it's helped you. I know it can seem off putting at first, but it's no different than going to the doctor for any other aliment. Sometimes we need that extra help. Good luck to you! :)
This I would dispute, lol, but I get what you mean. ;)
If there's still any doubt that our popular culture has taken a nosedive, try comparing the Chipmunks from the 1960s and the 1980s vs. the abomination we have today.
Well I mean after you've had a Raquel Welch moment it's hard to move on, lol. ;)
But seriously that's a good point about Fozzie not having anyone. I guess his character is sort of the insecure best friend who doesn't develop relationship as easily as the others.
I have Children's Songs and Stories. The inside cover says: "Few people know it, but...Scooter has never ridden a scooter in his life! No one has the faintest idea where he got his name!" ;)
See I don't tend to write fiction. Nor was I ever that into fiction books. Even as a child, I liked reading non fiction books that were about things that I enjoyed, such as historical events or movies. And now I guess I write the same way, analyzing characters or stories that I identify with...
Yup it was made in ATV studios in Elstree, England. That's why you occasionally hear references to British culture such as Statler mentioning The Manchester Guardian newspaper.
And actually I think I recognize a couple of these guys from the Of Muppets and Men documentary! :halo:
Right exactly, whatever problems we have are like "upper class gentry" level problems compared to the rest of the world. It's laughable at times, lol.
But isn't changing the phrase in itself a politically correct thing to do? ;)
You know what? A few months ago I found a book about movies written in the 1920s and EVEN THEN the author was warning filmmakers to avoid the already tired dream sequence ending, LOL.
It should be that, but just as often it's just there to show that the boyfriend is a "geek" and the girlfried is "cool." And as a woman who is definitely more of a geek in her interests, that really annoys me, lol.
Well in this case, I think the truth is somewhere in between. I have no problem saying "Happy Holidays" because not everyone celebrates Christmas and it's being polite. But I do think there are people who get positively anal when anyone even tries to mention God in our society and it is getting...
Well I've said before elsewhere, I think had the special been done years before, the whole "alternate reality" thing would have been disturbing and thought provoking. With VMX, I felt the disturbing all right, but not much of the other thing, heh. Just my opinion. :)
Well see there you go, I...
Oh yeah I did look at that; honestly I just thought some of those comparisons were a stretch. Again, these kinds of plot lines and plot points aren't that unusual in any film, never mind these two films. And like Ruahnna said, nothing is to the point where it's unnecessarily redundant.
Yeah I know men who don't wear their wedding rings. Some guys just don't like to, it doesn't mean there's something wrong. Heck if I got married I'm not sure I could get used to wearing a ring all the time! Lol
