One thing I remember about GMC, that scene where the Muppets are listing what they'll need for the mission ("I don't have any other pants" and "Animal ate the peanut butter"). As a kid I didn't realize that was supposed to be funny, I took them perfectly seriously that that's what they needed, lol.
Well I agree about the repetitiveness of the previous discs (seriously, the doll sketch? Again?! Lol) but it's cool that they'll be doing more behind the scenes stuff this time. :wisdom:
Aw that is an adorable story, lol. Yeah I guess if you have no idea who the Muppets are the idea of a pig plushie might seem odd, lol.
And that reminds me of Nicky saying "He's a frog" in GMC, hehe.
My school nurse when I was a kid had the Muppet Babies Christmas Piggy which I thought was so...
Hmm yes...oh well, lol.
Well anyway, um, misnaming, yeah...well I had the opposite experience once. I bought myself a Snuffy toy a couple years ago and I was very shocked that my Dad knew its name, lol.
That's why I was always so grateful that Jim was so willing to share the behind the scenes experience even with young fans like me. :)
Absolutely, as one Disney documentary put it, "animators are actors with a pencil!" Well, puppeteers are actors with a puppet, lol. And I recall the Gorg...
I'm really glad that with the advent of conventions people like voice actors and puppeteers are finally getting the recognition they deserve. For too long people treated them like they weren't "real" actors just because you couldn't see them.
Well when Kermit was at the Oscars he talked about how "animated characters like us can do anything!" Like things real life people can't do. Then the joke was that Scooter had trouble opening the envelope without Jim Henson's help, lol.
Yeah I guess that's true. Though even some Spiderman fans complained about yet another version of the origin story being put on film. I mean move on already! Lol
Cool, that at least is a new idea.
That is an important distinction. I mean animation is a good form of teamwork, but the players (writer, voice actor, animator) don't always get to work together. With puppetry all of those elements get to come together in real time more often.
Yeah it was brilliantly done in the original movie but now it's just getting old, lol. I mean I understand they want a new audience but I'd still tell those kids to see the original movie! Lol
And I still haven't gotten past how creepy the new turtles look. There's just something unsettling...
It's hard for me to know what I think about that idea until I see it action, which of course will never happen now, lol. There's nothing wrong with deception for good reason of course, that's a big part of why Kermit is often forced to lie (the other times being to throw off Miss Piggy, lol).
