I just don't entirely agree; it depends on the help you mean. Too much sympathy only gives the person permission to keep feeling sorry for themselves (I've experienced this myself). You're essentially saying "Yeah, things really are that bad. You should be upset" which doesn't really help people...

Well see the problem starts in High School when you see some girls being given roses by boyfriends you know they won't have next month, while you don't get anything. After that V-Day becomes a sore topic for many. ;)
Hey, Cinderella (1969) - I grew up this one; probably one of the first Muppet related projects I ever saw. Looking back now I love how it tries to be a parody of your typical fairy tales, especially with the inept Fairy Godmother, lol. And long suffering Kermit having to deal with prejudice...
Well there's no logic to it, audience are just often reassured when they get to see the characters again at the end alive and happy, even if they're technically the actors taking their bows.
Well it's the same thing. It's fine if she gets to be the one to get Ferris in trouble with their parents. That keeps it in the family. But she wasn't going to get an outsider pick on her brother.
I feel like we're supposed to know they're all talking about Scrooge.
Then the question comes up, does the show still retain the same level of quality it once did that it could carry off a successful remake? I'm skeptical.
That I admit I wouldn't mind as much. :)
