I don't think this is meant to replace or be an alternative to the DVDs in any way (example: FRIENDS is on DVD/Blu-ray and Netflix, and yet, is syndicated on like 1000 channels these days).
I watched one episode so far ("Mokey and the Minstrels") and it looks pretty good. The cropping is done the right way, with each shot cropped on its own so that nothing important gets lost (there's one song where some of the Minstrels get cut off, but ah well). Only 82 of the 96 shows are...
Considering the business of YouTube is something the likes of which have never been seen before, I don't think there's any rules in place that would say it should be otherwise. There's no science as to who's getting views either; it can be anything from high-quality sketch things to simple vlogs.

No, that's his actual Mexican performer. Carmen is not in any way involved with the voice or puppetry.
Moving on, here's another one of these, apparently:
That's called a "stylistic choice."
It really doesn't matter what they look like; what's important is the how the character acts. That's the entire point Chuck Jones was trying to prove with "Duck Amuck."
Every artist draws Bugs differently. There is no "normal" look for these characters. There's streamlined looks they use for merchandise and whatnot, but there is no singular style they have.
