Jinx:
Wow! That was pretty in-depth. I appreciate that. Could you maybe follow-up with that and talk a bit about what performing pod #4 is like? I've seen a video demo, but they weren't really clear about the inner workings. :concern:
For the rest of the year:
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (seeing it tonight!)
The Incredible Hulk
WALL-E
Meet Dave
The Dark Knight
Mamma Mia!
Bolt
I really prefer The Dark Crystal any day. When I was younger, I preferred Labyrinth over Dark Crystal probably because Labyrinth was more busy and closer to TMS than Dark Crystal but when I finally saw The Dark Crystal on the big screen a while back (the first time I watched the film directly...
I found a discussion like this on another forum with a different show, I think this might be interesting to talk about.
Me, personally, I think it could be considered "geeky". Considering the Muppets have been out of the mainstream for so long and I'm already a self-proclaimed geek as is, I...
Yay! Congrats and good luck! My school is doing LSoH next year and, as everybody knows here, I'm trying like crazy to make sure that I'm the Audrey II puppeteer.
That's actually helpful advice for me, too. I've been working out since we ended the musical last year and I'm seriously hoping for...
What's there to be said about Jim that hasn't been said already?
I owe the man so, so much. If it weren't for him, I wouldn't be the person I am today. He showed everyone that doing things a little different can get you the attention that others only dream about. And as long as we keep...
I actually know someone I go to school with who's afraid of puppets! You see, to bring back this story from another thread, I brought one of my puppets in for the last night of rehersal of our spring musical at school and when she saw the puppet she completely freaked out. Enough for me to able...
Well, I've been playing on bringing a puppet to the auditions anyway, so I have auditions hopefully covered and I can just hope for the best. Ultimately, however, I'm dealing with a director who can't seem to see me as anything but bit roles as farmers and cops (last 3 shows in a row I've played...
Well, good thing I've already started limbering then! And thank goodness I've only mentioned that I want to be the puppeteer to her once, probably the last time I will until we get closer to auditions for the show.
I just hope we get our plants from there.
And, for the record, I've already asked her. She cannot pre-cast me in the role but she'll keep me in mind. Everyone says I have nothing to worry about, but I don't know. I'm certainly going to make sure she sees what I can do to show her I'm serious...
Would you be willing to give advice to someone who's trying like crazy to make sure he's the Audrey 2 puppeteer in his high school's performance of LSoH next year? :super:
I was just looking around IMDB and found a telefilm called Kids Like These. It's a 1987 drama about parents raising a baby with Down Syndrome. According to IMDB, Big Bird appears in the film.

Does anybody know anything about this?
Hmmm... I didn't even think of that.
Well, if that's the case then it looks like I'll be Ebay bound. My tight budget wouldn't be able to fit in a custom puppet in this case.
Does anybody know where I'd be able to get a professional custom Muppet-type puppet for a pretty agreeable price (around $200-250) and preferably on the US east coast?
Most cable networks keep their series on in re-runs for about 2-3 years after the show ends production. I think Disney Channel was just taking this route with MT, which meant Odyssey couldn't get the broadcast rights since Disney had them.
Yes, it exists. I have it on tape. It looks to me more like an extended commercial. My guess is that it aired on NBC as filler after a movie or something. It's just Kermit introducing the show followed by some MuppeTelevision clips (mostly from the Food episode).
As many of you know, I'm trying to organize an event at my school that would be a Henson retrospective and I'm getting ready to pitch it to the teacher in charge of film club at our next meeting (if we actually met that is :smirk: ). I have most of the video I need for the program but I need a...
