Me too. I bet a lot of us were like that. I was four, I think, when that PBS special about Jim Henson came out. "World of Jim Henson" I think. My parents let me stay up past 8 for it. That was serious stuff!
But yeah. The modern Muppeteers are never given their dues. Please give us some...
^Agreed. I want to see more of Whitmire, Jacobson, and the rest of the crew. I'm not five years old. I know the Muppets are performed by an extremely talented group of people, and I want to hear them talk about their work!
(Probably not the right place, but here ya go)
Does anyone know if the Muppet Read-through will be on the DVD?
There's "A screen-test on the way to the read through," but I don't know if
that actually includes THE read-through.
Thanks for the upload?
And gee... this feels like fan fiction. I'm glad the Muppeteers (and Pixar, if I remember correctly?) stepped in and showed them what was what.
Edit: Yeah. Sorry, but this script is pretty bad. Very unprofessional. Are you sure this is a real script and not a fan...
I honestly don't hear much of a similarity between Esposito and Henson's Kermit voice. Esposito sounded like Kermit with a bad head cold. But the voice wasn't what mattered; it was the actual performance. Very stiff, very "puppety," not at all alive. I won't rip the guy a new one, though. God, I...
I wouldn't blame Frank Oz for being difficult. Working with Steve Whitmire must be weird for him. He built a working relationship with Jim Henson for, what was it, 40 years? Suddenly, his best friend, performing partner, and mentor is dead, and he has to work with this kid. I know Whitmire was...
As much as I love Segal, and appreciate his enthusiasm for The Muppets, it's good that he's not IN the (potential) new movie. His story in the film is finished. It had closure. There's no need to have him in the next one. Now, I'd love for him to write it, as he has a pretty good grasp on the...
It would've been nice if they picked an actual celebrity. Neil Patrick Harris should have done it instead.
(Also, who the heck are they getting to edit these music videos together? They're butchering them to heck!)
Shock! Awe! Yawn.
I can't say anything more than what Dr. Tooth has stated already. Henson needs to aim lower before it can start with something like POTDC. I mean, Jim Henson started doing simple little commercials. All they need is clarity of vision.
