    Warner Animation DVD poll

I voted for Plastic Man, Shazzam, Silverhawks and Tiny Toons. Warner has been one of the better major fan-friendly DVD labels for some years now. They regularly hold online chats with fans and do listen to what the people want. I'm hoping for more vintage Looney Tunes stuff myself...:zany:

(Leach tosses muffins left and right) Growing up, I'd read "adult" books, such as Dracula, A Tale of Two Cities, Gulliver's Travels, etc. When I first read Dracula, I was a bit confused...he wasn't Bela Lugosi. Why was Dracula a tall old man with white hair and a long white mustache? In...

I would devour anything on the supernatural, too, especially ghost stories, and supposedly "true" ghost stories. The phantom hitchhiker was always one of my favorites. Every Halloween, I check the Discovery or Travel Channels. They often have specials on haunted locations around the world...

Rest In Peace: Roscoe Lee Browne

More TV... The Streets of San Francisco, Sanford & Son, 227, Magnum P.I., Maude, Soap, Good Times, and roles in the made-for-TV King (about Martin Luther King Jr.) and For Us the Living (the story of Medgar Evers).

Rest In Peace: Roscoe Lee Browne

One of my favorite character actors. Sad to hear he passed on:cry: Roscoe was a respected stage, film and TV actor. He appeared on numerous shows over the years, including All in the Family, Bonanza, Mannix, The Cosby Show, Cosby, Starsky & Hutch and many, many more. On stage, he was...

Yeah, I just finished re-reading Peter Guralnick's groundbreaking two-volume Elvis biography, Last Train to Memphis and Careless Love. Within the last month, I've read a bio about Charles Lindbergh, two books on Howard Hughes, the making of Hitchcock's Vertigo, and the autobiography of Charlie...

I enjoy reading fiction. Elmore Leonard, Thomas Pynchon, John D. MacDonald, Stephen King, Kurt Vonnegut (RIP), Lawrence Block, Mickey Spillane, Jim Thompson, James Ellroy and H.P. Lovecraft are just a few of my favorite authors, but I'll read anything. If you look at my ever-growing...

So it goes... Vonnegut dead at 84.

As far as film adaptations of Vonnegut's work goes, I quite enjoyed Slaughterhouse-Five (1972), directed by George Roy Hill (Butch Cassidy, The Sting). Vonnegut himself claimed to have liked the film. The worst film adaptation has to be Slapstick, with a tired Jerry Lewis mugging his way...

So it goes... Vonnegut dead at 84.

In my 8th grade English class, for a final project, our teacher had us write a biography of a popular American author. Not only did we have to research his or her life, we also had to read several of the author's books. The teacher wrote about 21 names on scraps of paper (there were about 21...
