Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
There were two different John Denver specials, one was "Rocky Mountain Holiday," one was "A Christmas Together." "Rocky Mountain" had more folk/country songs, and "Christmas" had the Christmas songs of course--I wish they'd put out the VHS of both of these--you see the CDs all over the place...
Hey, Traveling Matt,
The "African Alphabet Song" is on "The Best Of Kermit" Sesame Street Video that came out a few years ago--if you don't have the VHS, it's definitely worth your time and money to hunt down--especially since it's probably about six bucks.
It's got a lot of other great...
Muppet Vision was made before Jim Henson's death--so Rowlf not having a speaking part in that was more circumstantial than anything else; in "the Muppets at Walt Disney World" special (made to coincide with the opening of Muppet Vision), Rowlf had a significant role, and even had his own song...
Regarding Packaging and Card-Backs---
Is the plan still to have all of the figures pictured on the backs of the cards? i.e., will wave 2 have wave 1 and wave 2 figures pictured on them, so that by the time we're to wave 8 we have a Muppetorium of Muppet looking back at us with those eerily...
Very nice--I saw a blurb in the current ToyFare that shows part of the Animal Cover for next month's issue....it's always nice to see something Muppety get that high of a profile, and hey, if it's Animal, that's even better! I assume the photo is of a prototype, not a factory produced figure...
there's a Reader's Digest Children's Songbook that has quite a few Muppet Show, Muppet Movie, and Sesame Street songs in it--it's a bright yellow hard or softback, and it's packed with all sorts of songs, arranged for piano. I saw it at Barnes and Noble a few weeks ago, and was surprised to see...
i thought the best part of "Signs" was the sounds--the sound editing was brilliant, and were by far the creepiest parts of the flick. My brother in law Andy is still scared by those clicking sounds the aliens make...

Whenever I see those pictures of the undeniably Hippieesque Muppet performers with their arms up in the air with puppets on them, I always wonder how they smelled. Not a happy thought, but it's just what comes to mind.

I haven't seen ANY of the Thumb movies after seeing Star Wars--are they really that good? Should I bother tracking them down?
What about Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back? Haven't seen that either.
Recommendations/Non-Recommendations?
Out of the loop.

Yeah, it looks like they're finally telling He-Man's origin--something that hasn't ever been explored before.
"I HAVE THE POOOOWERRRRR!!!!"
Man, that was fun.

We enjoyed it, but not as much as say, "The Sixth Sense" or "The Others"....those were both much scarier, and much better. I really enjoyed Joaquin Phoenix in this one--but I don't feel like Mel Gibson's character ever really gelled. I'd give this one a solid B.

welcome back, Darth Gonzo---NICE name. I'm actually "JediKermit" on most websites I'm a member of, but wanted to be just Gonzo here.
Anyway, nice to see some fresh blood around here--especially when it's real blood, not that synthetic stuff they've been serving around here lately...
I was singing Christmas songs to my baby the other day...it turns out I don't know as many children's songs as you'd think I would....at least the lyrics. I make up a lot of them. They don't get as naughty as you'd think either.
Maybe it IS time for some Muppet Family Christmas...

I just checked my local Wal-Mart (well, one of several) and they didn't have any....but they did have Lord of the Rings on DVD for like 14 bucks. So I may have to go back and get THAT. Melissa didn't really care for it, so I may have to sneak it.
Ahhhh....THAT'S what marriage is all about...
I just wanted to say that IS a great song, and a great "Later Ernie" moment. A flowering of great songs in the 1980's. "I Don't Want To Live On The Moon" is another one.
Good good stuff!

Anyone know if any of these folks are Muppet Central people? I don't recognize any of the names. There must be a much bigger fan base for both the Muppets and Action Figures than many of us had anticipated...
Congrats, if any of you are reading this!
