No one really knew who Conan was when he was chosen to take over Letterman's old time slot. He was a writer (and sometimes bit player) on SNL, and at the time he got his late-night gig, was writing for The Simpsons. I think Michael Ian Black now is more visible and well-known than Conan was...

I actually like the look of the Muppets during the first season of TMS. I know they were a bit more crude-looking than later, but I liked the original look of Fozzie, Dr. Teeth, Statler & Waldorf, even Piggy. I also liked Kermit's look, circa 1976.
