Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
OK, I am pretty much blown away by this! I mean, when's the last time the full Electric Mayhem had a guest appearance?!? I LOVE seeing Muppets other than Kermit and Piggy doing appearances (though goodness knows I love Kermit & Piggy appearances)! Scooter at the TED conference = amazing, and...
UGH. Yes, all around. I watched all the "Deep Dish Nine" segments once to give them a chance, but now pretend like they don't exist because it hurts my soul. And after realizing how annoying Andy & Randy are, the only "Bay of Pigswatch" I bothered to youtube was the one with Strangepork in...
Well, we can assume at least that there was a Pigs in Space in the telethon (though it didn't make it into the movie), because we see Link & Strangepork at rehearsal wearing their Swinetrek uniforms. Oh, how I wish there was a new Pigs in Space filmed.... *sigh*
Two of my favorite little off-hand Muppet moments of all time is in the first episode of the Muppet Show, with Juliette Prowse.
Firstly, while Gonzo's tire-eating act gets boos, I loooove how Kermit says "Well, looks like it's another wipe-out for Gonzo..." It's funny and makes me laugh, but...
I just love whenever a Jim Henson character says "What the hay?" I've noticed the Swedish Chef, Link Hogthrob and Kermit saying it when they're perplexed by something, and it always makes me smile.... I think both because it's a funny expression that I use myself, and also because it makes me...
Just got this CD from the local library (though I was a bit hacked off that it was labeled as "children's music"...) and have given it a thorough listen. Here are my opinions, if anyone cares. :P
1.) Not a huge fan of OK-Go's rather bland take on the beloved theme, but I love many things...
Ok, this nonsense was inspired the character theme songs thread... "I'm Too Sexy" was brought up as a possibility for Pepe... and I thought it would also work for Link, then I couldn't decide which was more hilarious, Link or Pepe singing that song. So I decided they both should, and naturally...
LOL, you're like a little devil sitting on my shoulder, encouraging me to draw this ridiculous fan art. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any shoulder angel to argue, so I think that this is going to have to happen. :P
"I'm Too Sexy" by Right Said Fred would be good for Link as well as Pepe... I can't decide what's funnier, the idea of Link singing it, or of Pepe singing it. Maybe they could do a duet. I should draw that, lol..... :)
I don't believe we have ever seen Dr. Strangepork's legs, if you're talking only about puppets and not merchandise.... if I'm wrong, I'd love to know where his full body is seen!
