Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
Involving books...
What's the deal with Arthur? The first Arthur book, "Arthur's Nose", is about Arthur wanting to change his nose because it's so big and everybody teases him about it. But then after a few books it's no longer big. The big-ness of his nose does get something to do in...
I'm surprised to hear that the Seuss estate hated the live-action Grinch. I thought I heard that Audrey Geisel liked it when it came out. Maybe she's grown to dislike it after all these years, or maybe there's more people to the estate than just her. I knew that the estate dislikes the...
I don't know if it was ever stated that Boris and Natasha were a couple on the show, but it seems implied. They constantly call each other "darlink" or "honey" or terms that I would only expect a couple (or people wanting to hit on, in which case it'd be odd if they were constantly hitting on...
Here's yet another outline for "Sesame Street 2.0". As is tradition, I'll post the thread that inspired this: http://www.muppetcentral.com/forum/threads/april-fools-sesame-street-to-target-older-audiences-directly.50795/
Scene 1
Maria has made some fresh baked cookies for everybody, but...
Here's an episode of "Sesame Street 2.0" (for those unaware it was the subject of an april fools joke in 2012 and now I've decided to make outlines for some of the "plots", the thread is here...
Did you see this one: http://www.muppetcentral.com/forum/threads/sst-2-0-outline-gordon-forgets-his-papers.53996/
I plan on outlining at least a few more, but these don't have to exclusively feature old school characters. It's meant to be an alternate season aimed at adult fans and the old...
I'd like to see them redo the segment where Ernie wants Bert to pretend to be angry. That was made before the puppet got an eyebrow mechanism, so whenever he got angry they had to cut tape so they could re-position his eyebrows. Doing it today, they would be able to move naturally.
I also...
I recently saw the DVD/Blu-Ray release of Peter Pan, and there's too different-sized boxes (in addition to the release which includes those and a digital copy). One is Blu-Ray sized, the other DVD sized, but otherwise they appear to have all the same bonus features, the packaging art is the...
Well, when Kevin Clash resigned most of season 44 had been completed. "The Muppets... Again" will probably finish production by the time season 45 begins production. Who knows what other Muppet productions will be done by then. It seems Eric Jacobson and David Rudman have been balancing their...
I still like the majority of remakes that I liked as a kid. I wonder if the majority of people still like the remakes they liked when they were too young to know better (for nostalgia sake at least) or if more people dislike the remakes they liked as kids (I know The Nostalgia Critic tends to...
I wonder if the company that owns this special owns any of the other Julie Andrews specials with the Muppets. The Muppet Wiki pages don't seem to note distribution rights or production credits for these specials (except for Julie on Sesame Street being produced by ITC). That would be good to...
I think Muppet Wiki usually notes video releases of productions that feature guest appearances by the Muppets, so it's not that big a deal (but it's still good this was posted on the forum).
Today's episode included a repeated street story (Abby thinks Oscar is really a prince), as well as Super Grover 2.0 finding a wedding ring, Upside-Downton Abbey, and Elmo the Musical: Prince the Musical. I think it's new. There's some cool things in this one: Prince Elmo's castle resembles the...
I recently found one article called "All Animation is Disney", which lists examples of people thinking that Disney is responsible for all animation, and it says that one of the few companies that doesn't get mistaken for Disney is Warner Bros., but then many slapstick cartoons from other...
Really? Do you know of any examples? Because I don't ever remember seeing peanut butter sandwiches with lettuce. In Meet the Robinsons, for example, characters have peanut butter and jelly sandwiches the right way.
Though I thought it was weird when I saw the Sesame Street clip where Aristotle...
I watched today's episode, and it was good. I was surprised that the Upside Downton Abbey segment was not in today's episode (I thought I read that it was going to be in this one, guess I misread).
The cartoon with the cavemen was good. I am sad to say that I didn't really pay much attention...
I don't know why we should suspect Gonzo to not have a big role in this one. I would like to assume that it'll be at least a little bigger than last time, but even then his role wasn't that minor. Even though it seems like outside of his comeback scene and scenes involving the bowling ball act...
I don't think it's far-fetched for Simon and Poco to be on a cup alongside other characters. I read all the posts before looking at the link, and thought it was toys of the characters, which would be a surprise, but if they're just illustrated on a cup with other main characters, I don't think...
Maybe putting lettuce and tomato on a sandwich makes it look more like a sandwich? Though I would think two pieces of bread would be enough. At least peanut butter sandwiches are never shown with lettuce and tomato. I especially prefer for sandwiches with lunch meat to not have lettuce and tomato.
One thing I wonder: When they planned on having Miss Piggy play the ghost of Christmas present, did they also plan on having her play Emily Cratchet? Did they plan on having Emily Cratchet at all?
If the ghosts were played by established characters or played for comedy relief (or if the...
