I didn't even know this new film had anything to do with Invasion of the Body Snatchers. I knew there was talk of yet another remake, but this new take seems much more of a sci-fi action flick than the '56 or '78 versions (I haven't seen the 1993 one).
How about the upcoming remake of The Day...
Boy Scoutz has lots of great quotes:

Okay Snowth, I did a little checking, and ya know what? It seems the standard DVD release of Dragnet is in 1.78:1 for some reason, but the version included in the three-film "Tom Hanks Comedy Collection" box set is in 1.85:1. At least according to the packaging. Weird.

There's already a thread around here explaining various film ratios.
Personally, I prefer widescreen over pan & scan. The...

Invasion of the Body Snatchers - 1956 (Allied Artists)
Invasion of the Body Snatchers - 1978 (United Artists)
Body Snatchers - 1993 (Warner Bros.)
The Invasion - 2007...
I used to watch American Movie Classics all the time...when they showed actual classic movies, uncut, commercial free and in widescreen. These days? No more classic movies, unless you consider stuff like Alien vs. Predator, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind and Nell classics. Plus, you have...
