Also thought of another cartoon one with a guy counting from 1 to 20 (SS sure used 20 as a frequent counting total, eh?). But like the last post I made here (see # 75 ) I also am fuzzy with most of the details in this one. I believe in this one the guy counting was unseen. And it was a rather...
Whew been a rather rough weekend, but the intense lower jaw pain is a little better today than it was yesterday. Also keep feeling pretty weak, tired, and sluggish but sleep and rest is a good thing for the healing. Hopefully tomorrow will be noticeably better. In a few minutes I'm going back...
I thought of this one cartoon that I saw quite a few times in the early 70's but forgot quite a bit of the details of. What I remember is someone counting to 20 (I think it was a man) and as he is saying, "13,14,15,16" I think a bird either starts flying in the air (or hatches from an egg and...
Hey everyone. Been 48 hours now since I got rid of my wisdom. :D Ouch, I shouldn't have done a BIG grin yet, still too painful!
It went pretty well. The worst part on Thursday was the queasiness afterwards from the effects of the anesthesia. Yesterday had some swelling and soreness set in and...
Yikes, sorry you went through such an ordeal.
I've heard quite a variety of results from people on how it was. For some it was almost like a piece of cake and others said they were in pain for a whole week or so. I'll soon find out. :)
Thanks again for the good wishes.
Yes he did do a good job. Brought back some things of that segment I had forgotten, like one of the guy's name being Virgil Veep. It'll be so great if these vintage SS clips come back to television sometime, but going through these like this and recalling the sights and sounds is a lot of fun too.
Thanks everyone! Really appreciate it.
Indeed! And how fitting that on Friday night the Muppets in Oz movie is on!
Heh heh, I've been hearing this from people at work a lot lately!
I'm having my wisdom teeth removed Thursday morning at 9am. If you would, please say a little prayer that it goes well and that the pain and discomfort afterwards won't be TOO bad! Thank you! :)
I remember that one. No, that wasn't a Julius and Jasper one. Different voices and artwork. I think they were unnamed. After the one guy said, "My hat would fall over my eyes" the other guy said, "Oh for Pete's sake!" and walks away. The other guy then adds, "Couldn't hear either for that...
Oops! I just typed a whole bunch here and then lost it all because I accidentally hit the escape key!
Yes I remember both of those animated v sketches, Sesame Mike. Like you, I don't quite remember every v word that was used in them. A couple of them I just couldn't ever make out what...
I remember a sketch with Luis and Maria that I would estimate debuted in 1976 or 1977. But I don't think Luis played himself in this sketch. The man played by Luis has something in a bag. He asks Maria to try to guess what's in the bag. She tells him she can't guess because it could be one of...
Yes I am a big Stooges fan. I included them in my list in the 50 best tv shows thread. The ones with Curly are my favorites. Shemp ones are pretty good, though. Loved the line when Shemp says to this big guy, "Hey! Those are fightin' words in my country!" The guy says, "Okay let's fight." And...
I sure do! Eb kept walking away in anger from Oiliver and then reappearing right away on the opposite side. Also brings to mind when the show started with Eb humming the Green Acres theme song and then he turns to the audience and says, "Dahling I love you but give me Park Avenue" in Lisa's voice!
Hey that's cool, Geebee. :) That's pretty much exactly how I recall this vase skit too. And a couple extra details you mentioned came back to me (like Ernie picturing Bert throwing him a big party). Also neat that you confirmed that it was this skit where at the end Bert says to the viewers...
2 Grovers
Another Grover and Kermit sketch I remember had Grover picking up a very long ladder from one end and then walking it off to the left of the screen. As he was carrying it we continue to see the ladder moving and Kermit tells the viewers, "Now as you can see, this is a very long...
Here's my favorite movies by category:
Action/Adventure: Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)
Comedy: Tie between National Lampoon's Vacation (1983) and Airplane (1980)
Cop movie: Dirty Harry (1971)
Drama: Dominick and Eugene (1988)
Family: The Wizard of Oz (1939)
Horror/Suspense...
And thank you also for these. Neat to be able to see the lyrics that I couldn't ever make out back in the 70's when I would listen to that album. And the part where Big Bird says, "hippo-pot-a-mess!" , I couldn't figure out back then what he was saying. It just sounded like he repeated the word...
Mine's pretty simple. "Green Acres" is my all time favorite sitcom and Fred Ziffel is my favorite character in the show. Thus, the user name Ziffel and the avatar of him. :)
Thanks for these lyrics. Do they really say, "Zoom Zoom" instead of "Zom Zom"? I know zoom would make more sense, it's just that it always sounded like zom. I haven't heard it for almost 30 years now. I remember it on SS and I also had that SS album where it was the z song (the y one was with...
That's right. I remember it being tossed. Would have been rather nasty to hand someone a core after you ate all around it! And kudos to Jasper for not littering.
