That's ok. That is the one downside of typing; sometimes things come across conveyed differently than actually intended. Like recently when I took your "the number 11?' in a critical way when you meant it in a humorous way.
Would be cool if there really is/was a Sniddler's Gulch. Neat name...
My prayers are with you also, people of the UK. I found these words today of Tony Blair quite inspiring and right on:
"We condemn utterly these barbaric attacks. We send our profound condolences to the victims and their families. All of our countries have suffered from the impact of...
I know you didn't. And I said I think it is probably fictitious and mentioned that last line about the people not being smart as another indicator for concluding that. So what's the problem?
Sniddler's Gulch is probably a fictitious place. Especially considering that the last line was, "And so the citizens of Sniddler's Gulch lived happily ever after, because they really weren't very smart." Unlikely SS would have put down the people of an actual town!
I never liked the Mets, but wasn't that wonderful in 2000 that we had a subway series between the Yankees and the Mets! I had been wanting such a thing for a long time and hope to see it happen again some time.
Thanks D'Snowth. And absolutely, there are tons of great folks here. I enjoy and appreciate talking with all of them, as you do. My concern was only that perhaps I myself wasn't likable to you anymore. But glad that's not the case.
Okay, since this is a "Green Acres" thread let me quote...
Yes. And just wanted to ask you if you might be mad at me or just not care for my posts anymore. Just kind of sense there may be something wrong. But you don't have to comment if you'd rather not. It's ok either way. Thanks. :)
I remember one Amazing Mumford skit where, for some reason, he only said, "Peanut butter", instead of the usual "Ala peanut butter sandwiches." This skit had a lady anyhting muppet. He kept making her disappear and reappear by saying "Peanut butter." And she would go, "Ohhhhh" as she vanished...
This one was called "County Hospital". Not sure if you've seen this one, Janice, or anyone else here but I rewatched it yesterday on the VHS tape I have of it. And just wanted to say that this is Laurel at his densest best! Wow what comic brilliance he displays in this one! As he does hilarious...
Thanks for that info, Katzi. :) That laugh of Joey's was so precious and great. And Jim Henson did a great job of not laughing when he had to make Kermit say his irritated lines! (As did Frank Oz and Jerry Nelson when they were with John John!)
I pass. :) But maybe with comic strip characters I might date Miss Buxley from "Beetle Bailey". And with cartoon characters, when I was a teenager I might have dated Judy Jetson. But she's probably been long married by now. Oh wait, she doesn't even exist yet because that is way in the future...
Ah yes I well recall this great "Beat the Time" skit with Grover. (I liked the Cookie Monster one even better). It was five things actually that Grover had to find that contained milk. And he finds cheese, butter, and ice cream and then just before the buzzer sounds he brings in 2 cows to make...
And another GREAT Grover gem: Grover and the letter G that keeps growing.
It was vintage Grover as he is happy and having a good time talking while not even noticing the G was getting bigger and bigger on that wall. He finally notices it after saying, "And all the flowers are growing, and...
Oh that's good it's a tropical storm. I heard them talking about Cindy and the upcoming Dennis and thought hurricane, but I forgot they name tropical storms too. :)
Funny to see this thread come up right now, The Count , because I just heard this news myself about five minutes ago! First time since 1948 for London to have the classic games. Congrats London! I wish I could go there today for some steak pie and chips for lunch. mmmmmmmm!
When I first saw minnyhaha I was expecting to see you say the Twins are your favorite team. (When I was in Minneapolis there was a lot of Minnehaha things everywhere). But I see you're a Long Islander and a Yank fan, yay!
You'll have to check out your "favorite baseball team" thread. We recently talked a lot of baseball there. :)
And how bout those Yankees! They are on a hot streak again. CRUSHED the O's 12-3 this afternoon and hit 4 hr's! Way to go Bronx Bombers!
I just learned that the guy who played Wally (Joe Ponazecki) was also the guy who frequently appeared in the "baker falling down the stairs" number sketches. He was the guy who cautiously opened the little doors to see what was behind. Sometimes it was innocuous things like 4 goldfish, other...
Yeah this was a great animated sketch! I always loved when this came on. Fun music too. And great job with the words, fuzzygobo! Thanks for the addition too, Splurge. Some of these words were hard to make out back then, especially when the festive music plays at the cake scene. This is great to...
