How's the weather where you are?

Glad you're okay, Katzi. Interestingly I used to work with a guy who was also right about your age and he would have a minor siezure once in a while. What makes it all the more interesting is he LOVED bowling. It was definitely his favorite hobby, he bowled every weekend either in league play or...

    Favorite Bert and Ernie Sketch

Just thinking a bit about the Ernie and Bert sketch where they blow a fuse. I remember seeing this one in the VERY early days of SS, so I'm guessing it is from 1969,1970, or 1971. Also, it was pretty much devoid of any humor wasn't it? As I recall the skit, Ernie is watching television and Bert...

How's the weather where you are?

And also someone here in the USA that was in the military once told me that in the service they called the 3 meals breakfast, dinner, and supper. But yeah when I was a kid my parents always called it breakfast, lunch, and then used dinner or supper interchangeably for the evening meal. A brief...

    What's your favorite baseball team?

Not a Bluejays fan eh, That Announcer? Or a former Expos fan? :) Also, I see at this one baseball site that the San Francisco Giants are about to become the first team to win 10,000 games. (9996 currently). You would think the Yankees would have more wins but the Giants go back to 1883 (New...

    Any Laurel and Hardy fans?

Yeah they did a great job with that movie. Generally though, I preferred their short movie films to their later full length feature movies. They were at their best then. All of my quotes above come from the shorts except the one about banging the head against the wall, which was in "Flying...

    Bert's Bottlecap collection skit

I likewise was inspired by Bert as a youth to start looking for bottlecaps and saving them in a collection. But this was an extremely short lived hobby. The bottlecaps were usually bent in half. And the other drawback was that they were boring ones like "Pepsi", "Coke", and "Budweiser". Nothing...

How's the weather where you are?

Sure did! 84 and a little less muggy. Tomorrow will be even better. 82 and some further relief of the humidity. But by early next week I heard a nasty word in the forecast - STICKY! I know it's a huge cliche but it's SOOOOOO true!: "It's not the heat, it's the humidity." Humidity with the heat...

    What's your favorite baseball team?

Oooh the ULTIMATE in long-suffering right there. But I'm sure the RedSox winning their first Series since 1918 last year has comforted the many Cub fans wanting them to end their 1908 drought! And still another in the L-S category! Never yet won a World Series. Heck of an effort in 1982...

How's the weather where you are?

Philly got more thunderstorms overnight between 2 and 3:30 am. Woke me up and kept me up till it finally stopped! Now probably this weekend there'll be a similar sound at night - but with fireworks instead of thunder! Breakfast was scrambled eggs and toast. Now how about a joke for the day...

    What's your favorite baseball team?

Ouch! You're a long-suffering fan. :) But even more so if you like the Detroit Lions! Were you old enough to remember the Tiger's last World Series in 1984, Kimp? Heck of a year they had then. Started out 35-5 and never looked back. And I see your team did pound my Yanks last night.

    What's your favorite baseball team?

Like Vic Romano and bobhopesite, I also am a Yankee fan! Whenever someone says, "Boo! Yankees!" I like to tease and say, "Come on wouldn't it be nice to see the Yankees finally win a World Series? They deserve some glory, too." I grew up in Maryland just 10 miles from D.C. so all my favorite...

    T*K*O-"Workforce"

No I'm sure they all liked it D'Snowth, as some have already expressed. And I'm sure more praise will come. You write very well and are very creative. My cup of tea is more repeating the works others have already created (as you can see with my "Sesame Street" and "Green Acres" quotes!). In...

    Any Laurel and Hardy fans?

Dantecat had a thread a while ago asking if there are any "Three Stooges" fans so I thought I'd inquire about "Laurel and Hardy." I really liked this duo a lot. I'd have to give the slight edge to the Stooges because the laughs just came so constantly. But I loved "Laurel and Hardy" too. Hardy...

    Prayers for my best friend

Just wanted to say Vic, I've been continuing to think of you and your friend and praying too. (Last time was on the way home today from work at a long red light. Was a good time to send up some prayers.)

The "Thread Killers Organisation", or "TKO"

Thanks Beau. In the weekday mornings before work (when it is 6am here it is 11am where you are, I think). if I have a few minutes I stop in here briefly sometimes and I often see you practically by yourself at that time and wish I had the time to stay a little bit longer.

How's the weather where you are?

It really seems like Pennsylvania weather is often a day behind Minnesota weather. I noticed in the winter a lot of times snow that is forecasted for a certain day here falls in Minnesota the day or two before. And several times when you've mentioned your weather in this warm season it's close...

The "Thread Killers Organisation", or "TKO"

I apologize, everyone, for my previous post here which was childish and ridiculous. Some difficult things going on, been down on myself, but this was silly and uncalled for.

    Your favorite sandwich/hoagie at Subway

Wow, didn't realize some of Subway's subs were regional. In the early 90's I used to live in New York and they also, like Philly, have my fave seafood one. :)

The "Thread Killers Organisation", or "TKO"

That's me, the ultimate thread killer, and big flop. When it comes to people, I do like a lot of home run hitters - strike out. Oh well, like I said, reality is what it is. If you don't got it, you just don't got it. All the "postiive self-talk" in the world doesn't change the actualities...
