Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
Let's also not forget that, sure there was Mr. Rogers's Pre-PBS series, Captain Kangaroo, and dullsville Ding Dong School and Romper Room either before it or as competition back in the day, where as Disney and Nick have a steady output of preschool programming. And I swear a new one pops up...
IF HBO were involved in anything, we wouldn't see anything until the next season. It's obvious from watching this current season, produced before HBO was involved, these major changes were SW's and SW's alone, and would probably have happened if the show was still PBS exclusive.
The cast was...
That's why I'm so confused about how the show presents the girls and passage of time. They're older, except their not, but they are, but all that changed was their voices and hair styles, but in the flashback where Bubbles destroyed the school she has her old haircut...
I can take the fact...
That's what I've been saying. You can take any kid's show and say it's full of Christian messages. Even Animaniacs did like 3 Bible stories.
However, if we're talking bad CGI in a TV show (since no *&^%in' way does Dorbees count as anything beyond TV series that never took off), I'd be at a...
I really really shouldn't say anything because it's going to damage the heck out of that joke, and I hate being that guy...
but...
Drumph's entire campaign, heck, his entire political involvement since 2008 is basically a manifestation of internet troll commentators, and horrid image macros...
I just miss the heck out of the McDonalds mascots that weren't obvious ripoffs of the Minions (but at least they fess up to it when they had Minions and Raving Rabbids Happy meal commercials, but that's another thread all together). I grew up in the 80's and early 90's when the things stopped...
Okay, I was watching American Dad a couple nights ago, and I saw this scene...
That's exactly the reaction I have when I see those FRIGGIN Italian Tour commercials that my cable provider thinks I desperately have to see 20 times a day! Of course I remember your dad! I'll spend an entire...
Know what's uglier than an Ugly international Big Bird?
How about an ugly toy of an ugly international Big Bird?
I'm not expecting anything resembling craftsmanship, but...
but that looks like something that you'd win at the cheapest arcade for the least amount of tickets. Right under the...
...uh...cuz it's from Dorbees?
I certainly could give them some credit for trying to be funny, but they mangle everything they attempted. If no other segment comes off as a Veggitales knockoff, this one certainly does.
And...did they attempt cel shading on this segment? Doesn't look good.
I've been saying for a while now, the show feels a little...deserted. Sure, they always had episodes where there were just a couple humans and Muppets, maybe one of each, but those were getting more frequent. And a lot of the time in recent years human characters are supplemented by celebrity...
Considering the other movies barely getting most of their budget back this summer, it stands to lose the least amount domestically. The detractors are drooling over the fact it "bombed" when frankly it's made a crapload more than Tarzan, Warcraft, or Independence Day did.
Seriously, after all...
I think, old or no, there's no way kids would really respond with characters that don't appear frequently as well. Roscoe was the only one who was a regular actor on the show the past few seasons up until this point. Luis really didn't appear on the show for a few seasons until the bike shop...
For those who don't want to dig through the runtime of the whole video, watch this lame attempt at a parody super hero parody.
I've never seen an attempt at a wacky cartoon mangled so horribly. Something tells me those songs were used without permission, considering that those performance...
My issue is, frankly, if they didn't report that the show let them go, I don't think anyone really would have noticed, at least immediately. They were being slowly phased out anyway, and other than the fact that Roscoe was still around for some time and they brought Luis back a season or so...
Here's my idea for a Fraggle Rock movie.
Don't do one.
It's clear that the iron ran cold a long time ago, and making a glorious film comeback is just not in the cards for them so late in the game. And it's telling that the first movie studio that was supposed to produce it couldn't get other...
Agreed. It's hard for Sesame Workshop to say "Kids won't understand or even care who these older actors are" when they reuse old episodes they were on.
Still think its because of cheapness, though.
Bobobo-Bo Bo-Bobo is a huge parody of anime tropes, the entire premise is a huge stab (affectionately) at Fist of the North Star. It's quite good, even though the American dub had to Westernize the heck out of it. If you liked Samurai Pizza Cats, you probably will like this one.
But I'm going...
I've noticed a downswing in Sesame Street merchandise for adult fans lately. I mean, sure, you still have the Funko Pops, if you managed to catch them. But it feels like not too long ago, you couldn't punt a football without hitting a Sesame Street T-Shirt. I think they blew opportunities...
