I thought that WAS supposed to be Sherlock Hemlock. It was never exactly stated just how many Muppets were supposed to be there. In one song, a couple of lines sound like Snuffy's voice (Maybe the fellow Muppets knew he was real before the humans did). I'm also not certain if every song/skit...
Actually, in the beginning, Grover worked hard to please Fat Blue, along with Simon Soundman once, and the Count on another occasion. Grover would always get the worst of it early on. At some point, they thought it was funnier for Grover to be the antagonist. I don't think the change occurred...
I actually thought the early skit, where Grover would get frustrated with Fat Blue, were a little funnier. The very first skit was the one about alphabet soup where Fat Blue insisted on having every letter of the alphabet in it. Grover would go in the back and say, "Charlie, we've got a weird...
Simon Soundman made the noise of the animals, not Fat Blue. Simon Soundman was in at least one skit with Grover the waiter instead of Fat Blue. It was in that skit, that Simon implied that Fat Blue was his brother.
Also, if you recall, in the early skits it was Fat Blue who aggravated...
Yes, Alice is "interviewed" about the baby in that issue as well and she says, "I'm so excited! Now I'll have someone new to play with." Curiously, out of the four characters who were "interviewed" about Maria's baby, David was the only human. Perhaps they were trying to emphasize that David...
True, but if a message makes us uncomfortable, we can just as easily ignore it as respond negatively. Sometimes silence says much more and in a much more polite fashion. It's funny that we tend to think of an unwanted message as invading our space when we really make a choice to come online...
Yes, David usually got along with everyone.
BTW, the June 1989 issue of Sesame Street had "interviews" with different characters' reactions to the birth of Luis and Maria's baby. A photo of David says, "I LOVE babies. I already told Maria and Luis that I'll baby-sit." Of course, David...
Well, it depends on how the special is being done. If it is performed with muppets and humans who are all in character and reminiscing about old times on the street, it wouldn't work to talk about different actors playing the role. But, if the actors and muppeteers are out of character and...
I seem to remember a funny was he'd pronounce Snuffy's name. When Big Bird would call him to see Snuffy, he'd say, "Oh, Big Bird, don't bother me with that Snufal-uppa-uppagus." He would never know that Snuffy was real and neither would Mr. Hooper.
In that skit, the Count hired Ernie to answer his telephone for him, but warned Ernie that it would not be easy. Ernie can't understand why, but when it rings, the Count wants to count the number of rings so he won't let Ernie answer it. It was a bit physical, but it only involved the Count...
Yes, I don't think anyone should be put down for what they post on here as long as it's not obscene or inflammatory. As Muppet fans, we all have some unique thoughts and I think this should be a safe place to talk about them. We tend to forget that no one is forced to read or respond to...
No, the Count's whole personality was more sinister in the beginning. He would zap people into trances, often acted like a bully, and once stated that he had no friends. As time went on, he became more friendly and innocent. The one thing that remained the same was his passion for counting.
The Count used to scare too when I was a child, at least he did when he first came around. I was around 5 or 6 and extremely afraid of vampires. The Count was also a bit more sinister in the beginning too. The fear certainly didn't last. It wasn't long before I got my own Count puppet and...
