I just saw it. The best I can say about it is, "nice try." Very little of it was about the old days. A lot more of the old days could be seen from the Noggin episodes than the few clips that they showed on this special. Grover was supposed to show Elmo the "Sesame Street he never knew" that was...
I think that is great, but if you really want him/her to appreciate the old days, I'd recommend tapes of the Noggin episodes over this special. Hope you get to share a lot of the "good old days" of Sesame Street with your child. Take care.

The idea of Snuffy always being missed was a bit frustrating, but when you think about it, the whole scenario was so far fetched, it had to be funny. This huge, unique looking creature roams the street and no adult happens to see him. He was often right with the adults and it was just a matter...
There were different comical segments on Sesame Street where Cookie Monster, Oscar, and Bert dressed like females. It was played for laughs during a simpler time.
I think I saw the earlier one. I don't remember what he was in the hospital for, but I don't think it was anything serious. When Mr. Hooper got his diploma, Big Bird somehow lost the speech he was supposed to give, but Mr. Hooper wound up making a better one about the people from Sesame Street...
There are a few Mr. Hooper segments that I remember from years ago.
One very funny one was where Big Bird had an extra nest and he kept showing it to Mr. Hooper. Someone else was there, I believe it was Maria. Anyway, at some point, Maria gets the idea that Big Bird made the nest for Mr...
Ironically, that burial information includes a picture of the Sesame Street cast without David in it. In fact, it's the cast of characters that were there after his death. They also get the dates wrong since they say that Northern Calloway played David since 1970. I believe he came onto the...
They are many theories as to why they didn't. Northern Calloway quit the show before he died and I've heard that the episode about David moving to his grandmother's farm was made before his actual death. It's also been said that another death so soon after Mr. Hooper would have been difficult...
I believe that Susan became a nurse in the MIDDLE of the first season. She was certainly a housewife during the early episodes, but I do believe that the "Hello" record was produced at some point during Season one when they gave her a career. I'm not sure exactly what it says on Hooperfan's...
I'm Ernie. That may seem contrary to my avatar, but it's really not. Bert was always my favorite character, but I always believed that I had a personality like Ernie. I was a little surprised about the description of the Oscar personality. I would have thought Oscar's description would have...
Yes, the old one was more of a blue-green color too, while the newer version was dark blue. I'm kind of torn as to which one I prefer, but you make a good point about the older one being able to show a wider range of emotions. I wonder why the Muppets have gotten so many make-overs throughout...
I've recently gotten rid of cable TV, so in the mornings, I glance at current Sesame Street shows at breakfast. Most of my negative suspicions about modern Sesame Street seem to be well founded.
Even the Ernie and Bert skits aren't that entertaining anymore. Today I saw one where Ernie...
They also released Sesame Street albums that had non-Sesame Street performers singing songs from the show. The albums were produced by companies like Peter Pan Chorus, Wonderland Records, and even Disneyland Records. It's kind of interesting hearing different voices sing the classic songs...
I've heard a lot of different stories about Northern Calloway's life and death. It's difficult to know what the real story is and we probably never will. One thing I've noticed is that celebrities from Sesame Street do not seem to be subject to the same tabloid probing that other famous people...
I saw a little bit of a current Sesame Street episode today and it seemed pretty bad to me. Particularly disturbing was the fact that I did not see the drawing of Mr. Hooper by Big Bird's nest anymore. Do they even call it Hooper's store any longer? I'll stick with the classic years, hard as...
