I saw the game today at Barnes and Noble.
Something that really surprised me about the game: There are six character tokens and Elmo is not one of them! :)
Actually, I think most of the human characters left the show that way. Mr. Hooper and David are really the only ones who I can remember having an explanation for their departure.
Interesting thread. Bert was always my favorite. Like other muppets, he went through numerous transformations throughout the years. His nose seemed to get smaller and smaller. I tend to prefer the older looks best, but honestly, his current look is the only one that I can say that I honestly...
I honestly don't recall if Bert was in that skit or not. If he was, I don't think it was a very big part. I remember the last scene fading out with just Ernie and Oscar comparing their two toys and discussing how what's cute to one person can be ugly to another.
:p :grouchy:
We should never speak out against a war while it's taking place, under any circumstances. No matter how dishonest, misleading, or impractical a war may be, every American should support it without question and I'd be in favor of a constitutional amendment that put a gag order on discouraging...
There is an old Ernie and Bert skit where Ernie loses his rubber ducky and Oscar brings him a Grouch doll as a substitute. The doll looked ugly and made a grouchy sound when squeezed. It may have had a name, but I don't remember it.
:grouchy: :p
The war is one BIG con. Everyone who loves and cares about their loved ones in the armed services or just beleives that the lives of soldiers are not expendable for selfish political gain and personal family vendettas should vote for Kerry. JMO
I could be wrong, but I've always thought that there was no real point to that punchline and it was just a sort of nonsense joke.
If you listen closely after she says "Because it's Thursday", you'll hear the narrator say "What?" before he says "K".
This song and video should not be confused with "The No Song" that was sung by Oscar and Farley on a Sesame Street album. I don't know if the latter was ever on a Sesame skit.
Of course. If there was a vintage Fisher Price Little Person made in my image, I'd search eBay and every thrift store, garage sale, and flea market in the world until I discovered it. Sure would be a great way to find myself.
According to the "Fisher Price Historical, Rarity, and Value Guide, 1931-Present" by Fox and Murray (two Fisher Price employees, the set is worth $75-$195 in good to mint condition. The book was written two years ago, but that's probably still pretty accurate.
Apparently, children mustn't have been all that afraid of the monsters because the first season succeeded and thrived. If it had been truly traumatic, I doubt if the show could have survived. I wasn't usually afraid of the monsters in the early seasons, but I was afraid of the Count that came...
I'm sure they had many copyright issues back then as well. I think Disney and Warner Brothers had to make a deal to get them together. It's kind of like when Marvel and DC comics have teamed up to make their super heroes fight one another.
