Disney have every right to recast if they want to, i get that. Matt is a superb choice, I am a HUGE fan of his work and I think he showed with Constantine for MMW and then Uncle Deadly for the TV show that he has been completely...
It's looking like one of the more exciting CGI films for sure - i'm not usually a big fan of them either. I did like Monsters Vs Aliens and Planet 51 was ok. I like the whole "world" feel of these CGI type projects.
I could be wrong but I gather Disney now owns MTM, MFS and KSY - what they don't own is the home video distribution rights which Sony do still have. So afaik the original poster is correct in that they are split.
