Okay, here we go! I scanned all the old photos, and also took some additional pics to illustrate some of the stages.
First, an archival pic of the Dearth and 'Kerzie' figures, with production Gonzo and Fozzie for comparison...

Did this one just for fun...
More to come, including the work-in-progress pics of Dearth and Kerzie... expect them tomorrow morning!

Oh wow!
I don't have time to scan them and get them posted at the moment, but I had a blast from the past when I got home from work... my wife was unpacking some holiday decorations and found a pack of pictures that I hadn't seen since we moved into this house about five years ago.
Among the...
A little of both, actually. I don't have everything displayed simultaneously, but the entire island of my kitchen is currently dominated by the Muppet backstage, my custom Muppet main stage, the Swinetrek, the Swedish kitchen, and several small vignettes which I change out fairly frequently...
Movie Usher Scooter was pretty scene-specific, so I wanted to do something with Chef and Lew to showcase him.
I grabbed some frames from the film and pasted them together to see how the set looked...
Not very involved customs, but they're new...

Fozzie's cousin (right) sports a bowler made of Sculpey and an imbedded craft magnet...
Sorry for the dearth of posts by Dearth... I'm in a cast at the moment and also having computer problems.
But I have been tinkering on lots of new Muppet ideas...
Extra shot of the George Burns doll...

It occurred to me that my custom pearlie Fozzie and 'Wotcher' backdrop were from the Burns...
Oh, uh, well, you know, it's, uh, going pretty good, eh!
I wanted to make a Muppets Tonight backdrop for Clifford, but the actual frames from my burned DVD's of taped-off-the-air VHS copies were too grainy for printouts.
Instead I found a similar Manhattan skyline and added an art deco...
Nope, that George Burns doll was made by a company called Exclusive Toy Products, around 1997. They also did a 'young' George Burns, and I think maybe a Gracie Allen.
I saw them in stores many times when they were sold, but never bought any. However, on a recent flea market junket, I spied...
Everyone say it with me...

Gonzo fiddles while George Burns!

Well, it's not a custom, because I couldn't alter the loaned wrestling figure, but it's a blue-screened diorama of Hollywood Hulk Hogan's cameo in Muppets from Space. The frame behind them is the actual set from the film.
Wow, when did that happen? Thanks, I never would have noticed anything...
Suggested by a friend (who also loaned me the action figure on the left)...

I hadn't planned on it, but if I find a nice inexpensive Sam figure, I would certainly consider it.
Here's a teaser pic of my newest Steppin' Out custom...
I hadn't given any thought to Solid Foam, but then I just got some copies of the Jim Henson Hour and Muppets Tonight for the first time recently. Cool designs, but they just don't have the same nostalgic quality for me.
I also got a copy of the Wally Boag episode of the Muppet Show, which I'd...
If you did it in the Muppet style, it could work.
I mean, if Miss Piggy was in her wedding gown and wanted to ride a horse, then the image that pops to my mind is of Kermit in his tux, trying to be chivalrous by interlacing his fingers to form a step for her.
But strain though he might, he...

This is the comic for September 14, 2009. Not sure if the link will take you straight to it later, so be prepared to scroll back.
Some might find this cartoon offensive, but I personally thought it was hilarious.
Especially if you stop a moment to...
