Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
I think Muppets Tonight was made in the US, as it was definately converted into PAL. You can just tell. I remember Sesame Street used to look particularly bad on UK TV, but towards the end of its run here, it got better. I'm sure the conversion techniques are always improving.
What does...
I kinda like the way the British version opens, with the shot of the lighthouse. I wonder why they made it different in each country. I believe the French version was set in a bakery.
Flat Eric was created for a Levi's commercial. He became a cult figure, and spawned various merchandise such as the toy which you have seen.
I'm not sure if it was just a British thing or not.
Here's a question which I've often thought about...
When the various Muppet shows and movies are screened abroad, what do the characters sound like? I'd imagine they do what Disney does and gets French, German, Spanish etc voiceover artists to redub the voices. Do they use the same people...
British Fraggle Rock - T.V.S
I noticed on another website that Fraggle Rock was a three way co-production between CBC, Henson and TVS.
TVS was a part of the ITV Network in the UK, the same as Lew Grade's ATV. Was any of the production of Fraggle Rock done in the UK, or did TVS just help...
I've never seen The Muppets Remember Jim Henson but would like to. Is it available on video or DVD?
If not, does anyone have a clip of the letter readings?
When Jim Henson pitched the idea to CBS, they agreed to put some of their money towards it. Lew Grade agreed to provide the rest of the cash, on the condition that the show was made at his ATV studios in Elstree, UK. Lew Grade owned both ATV and ITC, and I think TMS was made as a "Henson/ITC...
Ok ok! Don't rub it in. I get the picture, it's been done before! :)
How about this for an idea:
STAR CROSSED MUPPETS - Based on Romeo & Juliet
Kermit - Romeo
Miss Piggy - Juliet
Fozzie - Mercutio
Gonzo - Benvolio
I can just see it now "You can't marry him, he's a frog and you're...
There's a topic about what Muppet moments make you tearful, but what about the good times? Which moments have you really felt pride for the Muppets?
Mine is quite recent, when Kermit sang with Kylie Minogue on "An Audience With Kylie". She built up the moment, and it wasn't revealed who she...
The moment which gets me is the finale of A Muppet Christmas Carol, when they're all together singing "Bless Us All". It's the first movie since Jim and Richard died, and the way they're all singing together seems to be a message to the fans saying "we're still here, all together".
I've never seen the Brooke Shields episode, so I wasn't aware of that.
See, my idea's so good, they've already done it! :D Great minds think alike. Seriously though, I still think it would make a good feature length movie.
Hi, I've been reading this site for a while, but this is the first time I've posted.
I've been thinking about a plot for the next movie, and it's more difficult that it would first appear. It needs to be something which showcase the personalities of each of the main Muppets, perhaps a...
