I think a lot of it as to do with the fact that the studio can't have kids messing around on the set like they used to in the first 30 years. Ohter shows like Barney (:boo::boo::boo:) hired professional kids to act instead of be themselves. Ssame Street still does some of that in their episodes...
I would especially like to find all of the original Muppet Show PVC's that were made by Schliech. If anyone has them or knows where they all are, please inform me A.S.A.P. Thanks and God Bless. :)
This is too much of a burden. Cosidering all the interviews you made and how many people involved with the Muppets have supported you, it just seems too unfair. I hope that Disney isn't behind this though.
I think we need to get someone like Greg James or Phil Chapman to contact Disney and figure out what is going on and why the release date is taking forever. They obviously have to deal with song copyrights, but it should have to be this difficult for trhem to work out.:boo:
I'm positively positive that Jason will do a terrific job with acting in the movie as well as writing the screenplay. Because he is very cautious of how he wants to get the Muppets out there again, it is obvious that he will shine along with Kermit and the gang. :)
The best part was that Caroll mentioned he has a contract for several more years on the show and that Big Bird still gets fan mail from kids (still as much as he used to and even with Elmo today).
I know this is an old thread, but this is probably one of the best interviews I've seen Caroll give. The best part is that even though he doesn't want to quit, he still has Matt Vogal to be his understudy/successor. Big Bird will always be on Sesame Street no matter what (no offense Elmo)...
I think that it's just because right now people are trying to save up on money, especially with the way the economy is right now. But please don't let that discourage you. I think your prices are very reasonable considering that they are still in the box and because they are pretty rare in that...
I thnk we should take this quote from the Muppet Mindset into consideration:
WHY DOES SESAME STREET NEED BIG BIRD?
"It is obvious why the Bird is needed on the Street. In many ways, Big Bird is Sesame Street. Big Bird represents the love, innocence, curiosity, and hilarity of Sesame Street...
I just sent a message to Sesame Workshop about the issue asking if this rumor is true and if Caroll is still performing the bird as we know it. I'll let everyone know the truth once I get the message.
I've said it before and I will say it again. Elmo is the heart of Sesame Street, but Big Bird is the soul. If it were not for Big Bird, the show would not have as much child-like quality as it does now. :wisdom::wisdom::wisdom:
My only concern about this movie is that it stays true to Jim and his legacy and not make too much out of his personal life. The stuff about the Muppets being used in the plots as their own characters and Jim having hallucinations seems unnecessary though. Just a thought.
From what I noticed on Muppet Wiki, Scott Hanson and Warrick had posted several photos from the Mike Douglas appearances in '66, including the ones of the Robot, Chef Bernardi, Rowlf's mother Tillie, and Tomy singing "Money". Do you thin kby any chance they have all four of those shows. I tried...
