The first time you heard A Christmas Carol?

When was the very first time you ever heard the story of A Christmas Carol? My first time was when I was a kid and Rankin/Bass aired The Stingiest Man in Town. The Scrooge in this story was voiced by Walter Matthau. I saw the story of A Christmas Carol and I thought this guy had a such a...

    Actors who voiced Santa Claus

Actually, I heard it was Art Carney who played Santa in that Great Santa Claus Switch and Art played the evil wizard on there too. Also, I'm focusing on voice artists who voiced animated Santa Clauses and those you mentioned were live actors.

    Actors who voiced Santa Claus

I can't really remember. This was a post I once posted on another forum last year. Then I found out more Santa Claus actors and added them to my old post.

    Actors who voiced Santa Claus

XERUS'S VOICE ARTIST FOCUS: There had been many voice actors who voiced Santa Claus in lots of animated specials, movies, and TV shows. Probably the most famous Santa was Mickey Rooney who voiced the jolly one in Santa Claus is Coming to Town, The Year Without a Santa Claus, Rudolph and...

I recently found out about that too. While Russi voices a whole bunch of characters for other stuidos, Wayne just sticks to voicing Mickey Mouse.

The Scrooge McDuck/ Ducktales appreciation thread

What a great tribute to Scrooge McDuck, Dr. Tooth. :) My Dad loves Scrooge. He used to buy the Uncle Scrooge comics a lot when he was younger. And I continue to get him the comics for his birthday, Father's Day, and Christmas. Scrooge McDuck is my favorite Disney character of all time. :)...

    Mickey's Christmas Carol voice artists

I kind of wish Minnie did have some lines in that special. She could tell her feelings about Scrooge's stinginess just like Emily did in the original story. There were quite a few things they could've added to story. Like Scrooge's days as a schoolboy or the party at Fred's(Donald Duck)...

    Interviews with Disney voice artists

I agree. Hal Smith was a voice artist I've heard of as a little kid besides Mel Blanc. And rest in peace, Phil Harris. Thank you for bringing great characters like Baloo, Little John, and Thomas O'Malley to life. You'll be missed too.

When TV characters tell classic stories.

After seeing Alf-Tales and movies like Muppet's Christmas Carol, Muppet Treasure Island, and the Muppet Wizard of Oz. I realized I like it when a TV show takes a break from the regular stories and have the characters play characters from classic stories. The Simpsons had quite a few episodes...

    Any one Remembers ALF Tales

Alf Tales was my favorite Saturday Morning cartoon that year. The classic stories they would parody and the writing was pretty funny. These were the stories they did. Robin Hood, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Legend of Sleepy Hollow, Jack and the Beanstalk, Aladdin, Rapunzel...

    Remember When...

Do you remember when.... ABC, CBS, and NBC had Saturday Morning Cartoons worth getting up for? Game shows dominated daytime TV instead of talk shows? Fast food commercials showed kids eating burgers, fries, and shakes instead of chicken, fruit, and milk?

    Interviews with Disney voice artists

XERUS'S VOICE ARTIST FOCUS: I remember back in the mid 80's, The Disney Channel had a special where they'd interview the voice artists of those famous cartoon characters. Here, you'll see the faces of Wayne Allwine, Hal Smith, Will Ryan, and more. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MUebFZts8Eg...

    Mickey's Christmas Carol voice artists

Scrooge appeared in this 1967 education cartoon called, Money. Where he teaches his nephews the history of money and how to manage it. In this cartoon, Scrooge was voiced by Bill Thompson. The same guy who voiced Droopy, The Brownstone Ranger, and Touche Turtle...

    Mickey's Christmas Carol voice artists

Thank you. :) Yes, I believe it was either one of Mickey's two nephews who played Tiny Tim. Also, Minnie was Emily Cratchit, but she didn't have any lines in that cartoon, so a voice actress wasn't cast for her.

    Mickey's Christmas Carol voice artists

Hal only voiced Goofy that one time before Tony Pope became a voice artist. Tony only voiced Goofy in Soccermania and Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Goofy went through a lot of voice artists. Starting with Pinto Colvig and then George Johnson, Bob Jackman, Hal Smith, Tony Pope, Will Ryan, and...
