There actually is a company that makes chocolate chip oatmeal cookies. No fear of raisins.

Apart from Ants on a log, I'm not the biggest raisin fan either. Raisin bread, forget it. But I used to eat Raisin Bran a lot when I was little. Ah, the love/hate relationship we have with food that's good for us. Skating on thinner ice, prunes are dried plums.

Next time you have a bowl of chicken noodle soup, chances are very good celery is in there.

That was such a staple growing up. Put raisins on the peanut butter. They call it Ants on a Log. Loved it since nursery school. Healthy food you can like.. wow!

What do you know about dreams?

Your dream was right on several points. I do go to an old church, built in 1874. It's painted white with a high steeple. I have a brother, but his name is not Steven. Even for random images in a dream, some points were right on.

Thank you my dear. If I can't get you something store-bought for your birthday, I could share my good news. And no pain. That is huge.

Took my first steps with a cane today, and managed very well! What a trip over the last two months, from falling and breaking my hip, to being confined to a wheelchair, to a walker, to a cane. God's healing hand on me every day. This is just an ordinary store-bought cane my wife got me. If I...

    Happy Birthday Any Del!

It is 12:46 EST so let me be the first to wish you a timely happy birthday. Enjoy IHOP. One of my fave raves. Want a nice legal high? You know the little bottles of syrup on the table? Open the lid, inhale deep, repeat.

We just had to settle for Van Halen's last album before they became Van Hagar.

    Broadway is Cool Again!!!

I've only got to see a handful of Broadway shows, but man...! Cats, Avenue Q, and this summer Margaritaville. I told the Cats story before. Our high school Lit teacher took a few of us into Manhattan to see a show. We wanted to see "Little Shop of Horrors", but it was sold out. We had to...

    RIP Bob Dorough

It's too bad you younger folk got to only see this stuff secondhand. Back in the 70's when ABC ran cartoons on Saturday morning, one of these cartoons would sneak in between shows. So even if the latest incarnation of Scooby/Scrappy Doo was garbage, you still got 5 minutes of gold with these...

You Ever Notice...and What's the Deal...

The only cool thing about having a perm, I had a pick comb (what black people used on Afros), I could jam it in the top of my head, and it would stay lodged there all day. Greg Brady, eat your heart out!

You Ever Notice...and What's the Deal...

No, I never frosted it, but I did have several perms. Went to the salon (being the only guy in there) and had my hair chemically curled. Check out on YouTube "Sister Christian" by the band Night Ranger. Perm-o-Rama! You couldn't wash your hair for two days, and the chemicals STUNK!!! Then...

You Ever Notice...and What's the Deal...

That was the look. I lived through this in high school and college. Plus the punks had to have a bandanna tied to their legs. But the two most embarrassing 80's fashion statements were: 1) parachute pants 2) mullets I never had parachute pants, but the mullet was one of the few regrets in my...
