The new What Made You Smile Today thread

Had a big luncheon at church where a lot of people made soup. Perfect on a winter day. Had beef stew, pea, and my chili. At the end my crock pot was empty. Nothing pleases a cook more.

    RIP Kobe Bryant

I know it’s still a shock. There have been others that died in helicopter crashes- Thurmon Munson (won three World Series with the Yankees back in the 70s), Bill Graham (concert promoter who managed the Jefferson Airplane, Santana, helped organize Woodstock, and revolutionized the concert...

Pizza is great, and it’s cool there are different variations in different parts of the country. New York is the most common. Then there’s Chicago deep-dish, St. Louis has a cracker crust and provolone cheese instead of mozzarella. The possibilities are endless, as are the toppings you put on...

I love pizza. There’s a new frozen one, instead of bread, the crust is made out of cauliflower. Makes it a little healthier, but still tastes great.

    RIP Kobe Bryant

Once when I worked at Penney’s, we had a section of the store that sold sneakers, sports jerseys, posters, footballs. If we were really fortunate, a player from one of the local New York teams would show up. Lawrence Taylor was a big draw. He’d sign autographs and pose for selfies, and we’d have...

    RIP Terry Jones

He was a great director, and in Monty Python, enjoyed dressing up as “shrill ratbag old ladies”. Best moment - Mr. Creosote in “The Meaning of Life”. Thank you for all the laughs, dear man.

THIS was the cartoon dude I always thought of!

Not weird memory. I'm amazed we can still remember things from that far back.

THIS was the cartoon dude I always thought of!

I remember for the first few seasons this occurred. The one I remember the most was a bird pecking "Sesame Street" into a tree.

THIS was the cartoon dude I always thought of!

My best educated guess, but I'm not totally positive, would be Cliff Roberts. He's contributed a lot in the early years, and his design is very clean. It's definitely not John and Faith Hubley , I can guarantee that.

Well, no. The one good thing cold weather does is kill off bugs, so in the spring you don't have an epidemic of flies. I wouldn't want it too cold though. I couldn't survive a winter in Chicago . Excessive heat isn't bad, but it's the humidity that does me in. All in all, New Jersey's climate...

I'm not saying Climate Change isn't happening, or can't happen. But it's not the Doomsday Apocolypse people are making it out to be. This is going as far back as 1987, when it was still called Global Warming. The biggest offender was China, having one billion refrigerators emitting...

So you're gonna expect the same or worse for 2020 with no relief in sight. I got a big news flash for you. Life will give you exactly what you expect. If you expect nothing but bad things in your life, that's exactly whatyou'll get. But what do I possibly know?

Jerusalem is roughly divided in three sections. There is a Christian section, Jewish section, and Muslim section. Being in close proximity to each other, they have to get along. Or not.

Years ago, I worked at Toys RUs. One of my best friends was a Muslim named Mohammad Kabir. We worked together day in day out for three years. He gave me a glimpse into Islam, I gave him a glimpse into Christianity. It would not have been possible if we both didn't have a deep-rooted mutual...

And Chicken Little says the sky is falling. I made a suggestion of moving north but it always seems to fall on deaf ears. Only you would allow your Christmas to be spoiled because of weather. Well, Mr. Grinch, it was 53 degrees up here, but Christmas still came. If you're waiting for your...
