    The RHLC!

I'm glad the Sesame Street event is happening soon; I really need it. I've just been very unhappy lately. The state of the world, things in my life, nothing has been going right. I don't know how to be happy or even to stay occupied when things go so wrong, especially for other people. I feel...

Then again, not all of any group is what they are supposed to be. ;)

I would call Mokey a hippie; just that she's a better hippie than some of the real life people were, heh. People aren't perfect, but characters can be the ideal we're looking for. :)

Thanks for sharing that story, MN! What an inspiring message! :) Yeah Sara, those photos are definitely worth a look. ;)

Make 'Em Laugh: The funny business of America to air on PBS!

Wow, I liked this chapter much more than the first one! I'm not a big fan of physical comedy, but it was so enlightening to see some of Buster Keaton's work. He really was quite innovative, for then and now! I'm starting to see more of Chaplin lately. You know he sort of reminds me of Austin...

Your Thoughts: Street Gang – The Complete History of Sesame Street

Very true, hehe. Hopefully in a few years they'll be encouraged to read it, so they know there was life before Elmo, hehe.

    Inauguration 2009

I get you. :) It's just that I see his election as a great milestone. But the man himself as just another politian. ;)

    Inauguration 2009

I agree Obama did it a little differently, but I just can't reconile constantly being forced to vote for two rich guys in the same two parties, saying the same things over and over again (and they do say the same things, including Obama). Not when there are people who might have been...

I definitely think Gobo and Red had potential, hehe. :smirk::excited: I didn't like Gobo as much as a kid because he seemed too perfect. But now I really enjoy his very early episodes where he's still learning to be confident. I can identify with him more now. :)

    Inauguration 2009

I agree, the other guy did have his shot, lol. I just don't like that the only people seriously getting shots are the Republicans and Democrats over and over again. It doesn't say democracy to me. ;)

    Inauguration 2009

One thing we tend to forget is it's not all about the President. There is also Congress; they make a great deal of the decisions. There's just so much hype about the President, but there's a great deal that he doesn't do, the way the office is designed.

    Oscar Nominations Announced

Yeah hype tends to turn me off too (part of the reason I didn't read The Da Vinci Code). Benjamin Button sort of falls into that category, even if it is good.

    Oscar Nominations Announced

I've heard Slumdog is really good from a friend, so I wouldn't mind if that won. I'd also vote for Milk or Wall-E. Not so much for Frost/Nixon. They're great actors, but that's not how Nixon sounded.

Your Thoughts: Street Gang – The Complete History of Sesame Street

Aw that's so sweet! When I bought it, the man at the register pointed at Oscar and said, "He was the man!" :grouchy: He also said he didn't really watch the show anymore; I suggested learning towards the Old School DVDs, hehe.

Well that does makes sense. I think the website mentioned that Groucho will actually be in the Wise guys chapter. (Poor Chico, so often ignored ::sniff:: )

Make 'Em Laugh: The funny business of America to air on PBS!

Darn, I missed last night's chapter! Of course that had to be the one that focused on the Marx Brothers and other groundbreakers, grrr, lol. I think one of my PBS station is showing it again tonight at 9pm though. Here's the website if anyone else is interested in finding the schedule...

Your Thoughts: Street Gang – The Complete History of Sesame Street

I'm kinda weird in that I often read books out of order, lol. I know you get more out of the story reading it from start to finish, but for some reason I have trouble doing it!
