Lol, my Mom got upset with Follow That Bird for saying "Ain't No Road Too Long." But she didn't stop me from watching it. She did say not to say "ain't" in regular speech, which I didn't, probably because no one else I knew did, hehe.
Everyone can have their own views on the characters, of course. I personally think Gonzo was best as the outsider weirdo. I don't always think characters' personalities should be changed so much, unless you're at the very end of the story (and obviously the Muppets continue). There's a...
My parents think they're funny, my Mom used to tell me about the Muppet Show. Dad loves the La Choy Dragon and Muppet Babies, lol. Dad and I have always enjoyed Labyrinth. But neither of them are like huge fans.
Yeah congrats, MN, definitely! And feel free to PM when you get the chance!
Ugh, we had such a time finding the hotel afterward and then we ordered in and watched TV till 1am. Don't think I ever really got to sleep, lol.
Animal's a supporting player who sort of achieved that Elmo style of popularity, hehe. I think Gonzo should go first because he's clearly a main player on Muppet Show, Muppet Movie and Great Muppet Caper. But I have no problem with Animal being next.
Definitely a night to remember! I had something of a case of nerves last night, I didn't get to talk to Jane. ::sniff:: But it was very cool to see her and meet Fragglemuppet and MN! I'm sorry I missed a few people, but glad so many got to go. :)
It was so amazing to have Richard's clips up on...
I think probably Jim wanted to keep some of his main puppeteers free to do other projects. Because Jerry and Richard were always having to juggle a bunch of projects like Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock and the various movies.
Oh it's great that you still find learning fun, it's a rare thing. :) I think in general kids don't associate conventional school with fun and resent hard work that takes time (I'm not ripping on kids, just saying, hehe). But I do think Sesame Street occasionally tried to make the point that an...
Anothing thing I thought to mention, I loved when they showed the clips. Even though we've all seen them a gazillion times, lol, it was amazing watching Richard's work on the big screen and hearing a huge crowd laugh. I wonder if they cut the Don Music clip in half to avoid showing most of the...
There's a lot I want to say, I'll have to think about it for awhile, lol. Most of all, it was great getting to meet some people from the forum, it really made the night special!
Another big highlight was the young girl who asked why so many of the other characters weren't on the show anymore...
Well this was a very skilled media expert from the '70s, he was really good, not a naysayer or anything. He just meant that Sesame Street (in the old days and today) always makes learning fun and the pace is pretty quick. Whereas in school, learning can take many years and it's not always fun...
Ok last night was the Wise Guys segment. I think the Groucho segment was good, except for their use of Marx Brothers' clips. They kept cutting off at the wrong points, which weakened the jokes somewhat.
But anyway, it's always interesting to hear about how Groucho was resentful that his older...
Well like even the older movie books. I recently bought the book for Muppets Take Manhattan and I really like it and all, especially since it's my favorite movie. But I think it's very hard to put the proper voice for Kermit and the others in print. Plus some of the more adult humor does not...
