Why did MFS and EIG bomb so bad?

Well no one is saying there can't be any dated references in a movie. But people will remember that Ed Koch was a NYC mayor. But many of those celebrities from MFS will never achieved that elusive "classic" status. ;) Plus the overall MFS film is too entrenched in trying to seem hip and cool...

Why did MFS and EIG bomb so bad?

That could be, yeah. It's amazing how a movie that didn't do well gets better treatment than an older film that did. This obsession the culture has with replacing the old with the new, even when the new is somewhat inferior, is quite disturbing.

    What the Frog? !

Hmm...well I guess they're saying if the kid hadn't been so negligent he wouldn't have been in this mess and the emergency workers could have been helping someone else. Sort of like on the original Star Trek when misuse of the priority one channel for emergencies was a federal offence, hehe...

    Walter Cronkite dead at 92

Rest well, Walter Cronkite, and thanks for the news. :) And to all the news stations with their biases (both liberal and conservative) and fluff news...shame on you tonight! Walter would not approve. ;)

Why did MFS and EIG bomb so bad?

Yeah but I mean as far as the official company releases, there seem to be this need to push MFS more than the others.

Why did MFS and EIG bomb so bad?

MFS may have not have done well at the box office (and I personally think it had problems), but for reason some reason there always seems to be more copies of it in the stores than the other films. And last time I checked, it's the only Muppet movie on Hulu. Like the movie or not, I think it's a...

Thanks! I've always loved that site, it takes me back to when I first found Muppet Central in 2002. :)

    The RHLC!

Sorry I took so long replying! I love the photo, very chummy indeed, and how wise of Richard to recommend a group photo. We never know what will happen in life and we should remember to occasionally take the time to appreciate our loved ones. :)

None Like it Hot: The "I Hate the Heat" Club

It's been raining for far too long, thank goodness it's starting to improve! Still, I try my best to keep positive despite the rain. Like in that Beatles song "Rain", about how people automatically get happy when the sun's out and then sad when the rain's out. But in reality, the world's just...

    "The" Cookie Monster?

Btw, nice to hear from you, Snowth! I love how TV shows are always so ashamed to actually advertised themselves lest they be accused of setting a bad example, hehe. Actually I think this Cookie Monster issue is briefly discussed in the Tough Pigs book club discussion of the Sesame Street...

    "The" Cookie Monster?

Oh yeah that's a good example! And did that Unpaved book say he was going to be called "The Television Monster?" Sort of related, I remember when the Care Bears would occasionally refer to each other as "The Wish Bear" rather than just "Wish Bear." Always sounded odd for them, like they were...

    "The" Cookie Monster?

Well yeah it is sort of alien to me; he was always just "Cookie Monster" when I was a kid. And I always loved it when people called him "Cookie" for short, hehe. :insatiable: Not really disturbing to me though. Some say "The Cookie Monster" was more of an early Sesame Street thing. So I find...

Your Favorite SST Muppet Design Through the Years

You know I kinda like the first orange Oscar; he had this odd combination of cute and slightly creepy. I mean he looked sort of fluffy and nice, but didn't seem to have any arms, so all you saw was this disembodied head and neck peeking out, lol.

Your Favorite SST Muppet Design Through the Years

I honestly don't really count the 1st season puppets as they're clearly still being developed. I don't know, it just doesn't feel fair to mention them, hehe. ;) I have to admit I don't like some of the more recent designs that look more bright and cuddly. Sesame Street always took pride in its...
