    The RHLC!

Guys, the quilt's arrived safely at the AIDS quilt headquarters. We've been tracking the package through UPS's site (the wonders of modern technology), and it got delivered around noon yesterday. Around here, we've been baking stuff, wrapping presents and listening to seasonal music, things...

Muppet College Dorms: The Next Semester

Storyteller: You haven't posted in a bit, Erin. Have they been running you ragged at home? MN: Don't you know it. Between wrapping presents, and having that huge party for the neighbors (big success, by the way), angsting over the work vs. grad school question, having a really sticky spacebar on...

Muppet College Dorms: The Next Semester

MN: So how'd your excursion with the terrible twins go? Nora: Stu wanted to buy this fancy new junior chemistry set. Dr. Diablo, I think it's called. He claims it's for Cait but I know all too well he's going to try to use it himself. MN: Did you let him get it? Nora: Yeah, on the condition...

    The RHLC!

When it comes to Christmas specials on television, my fave is A Charlie Brown Christmas. It is a tradition to watch it at least once during the season in my house...of course, the last few years I've had to watch it on my roommate's tube, since finals were right around the corner. On another...

AIDS Quilt Panel for Richard Hunt

All right, I've been busy helping prep for a huge party we're having for the neighbors tomorrow night (fifty people, including ourselves, will be at this little brawl), but I have the final, finished, completed photo of Richard's quilt posted for your viewing pleasure...

AIDS Quilt Panel for Richard Hunt

Here is a Muppet news flash: At 11:04 a.m. ET this morning, we dropped Richard's quilt (along with a donation) off at the local UPS store. It's expected to arrive in Atlanta in about five days. We took plenty of photos. I shall post one on my deviantART page (and e-mail one to Amanda and...

    The RHLC!

Oh, I'm sure she is...and I think I see him now on that really puffy cloud in front of the moon. It's been kinda foggy around here today. It's going out into the mail on Saturday morning. We'll have some time to run it over to the local UPS place then.

Muppet College Dorms: The Next Semester

(Gang is lounging around in pajamas) Nora: So what's everyone doing tomorrow? MN: I have to make some more cookies, and some bread. Both are for an upcoming party. And I really need to get in some guitar practice and do some writing. Storyteller: I'm working on a new anthology of the legends...

    The RHLC!

Okay, my grandmother's seen the quilt (which still needs to be photographed). She adores it; she says that Richard must be smiling up in heaven.

Muppet College Dorms: The Next Semester

MN: Sorry I couldn't make the fete; I was out running errands all day. But I have, for Sadie, a really nice watered-silk tunic in a shade of forest green. Nora: Think she'd also like some of the gingerbread cookies you're working on? MN: Oh, sure. Storyteller: That explains why there are floury...

Muppet College Dorms: The Next Semester

(in room 7, occupants are rigging up bits of holly hither and yon, setting out candles and things like that) MN: All together now, people. Nora: The branch that bears the bright holly... Storyteller: The dove that rests in yonder tree... MN: The light that shines for all to see... Nora: The...

AIDS Quilt Panel for Richard Hunt

Not yet; I've been saving that until we've got a proper photo of the finished product. And I think that Jane Hunt would be pleased with what we've got. Mom keeps joking that she wants to be a fly on the wall at the AIDS Quilt headquarters when they get our panel. I don't blame her.

    Finals Finals Everywhere!

I'm all done with finals; I just came home for a nice long break on Friday. I'm going to spend my time relaxing and rewiring my brain; I think I've blown several million neurons from all those papers I had to write. I only had to sit two actual exams...but my other classes made up for the...

AIDS Quilt Panel for Richard Hunt

Update: The quilt is officially finished. I cut through the last bit of thread about ten minutes ago. I think we're going to send it out on Friday, after we finish the paperwork, take a few more photos and show it off to my grandmother, who's been wanting to see it.

    The RHLC!

News flash: Richard's quilt is officially finished. And it's beautiful... We're going to ship it later in the week, after it gets photographed (we're going to hang a formal portrait on the wall over the stairs) and we show it off to my grandmother. And finish the paperwork.

    The RHLC!

Thanks a million, heralde. I tried the recycling bin bit again with my roommates here at college, and I had much better luck. It's the old saying: every little bit helps.

Muppet College Dorms: The Next Semester

MN: That's okay, Ed, I've got a plan here...floor 1, West Wing, room 7...ah. Nora: So there is no proper floor beneath ours...then what the heck was that room we wandered into? MN: Embarrassing, isn't it? I can navigate the New York subway system and the London Underground, but we find...

Muppet College Dorms: The Next Semester

MN: Hmm, I seem to recall someone saying that there was a sub-basement around here. Someone around town said so back on the first of April... Nora: I thought he was referring to your bomb shelter. MN: No, my bomb shelter is elsewhere in town. The entrance is disguised as an old subway station...

    The RHLC!

I know, it's really depressing. It just seems like people just don't care anymore, sometimes. I remember back during my senior year of high school, I tried setting up a recycling bin in the senior lounge, 'cause I saw how many plastic bottles and aluminum cans my classmates were throwing out...

Muppet College Dorms: The Next Semester

MN: Okay, has everyone gone downstairs with the...er...you know? Nora: Right. Storyteller: Mm-hmm. Now who's up for cocoa? (chorus of ooh, me, me!) (some time later, each is huddled around the table, sipping cocoa and wearing blankets around their shoulders) MN: Finally, exam week is nearly...
