Aw, thanks guys, now I don't feel so bad, hehe. Though I think this just proves the joke was just as bad as Fozzie feared it would be. Lol :p
That's exactly the kind of joke that you can put in a family movie where the kids will laugh without losing their innocence, and the adults won't be...
The way I try to look at it, it's a badge of honor at times to be the one rejected by society. :)
I do think Richard seems to have been one of those people, who took "crazy" as a compliment. ;)
I do doubt whether these new attempts are really reaching people other than hardcore fans. You don't introduce an art form with something new and essentially untested. You introduce their very best work first. I honestly think making the Muppet Show and the movies more available to start with is...
This is where Emmett Otter's Jugband Christmas really speaks to me: "Patience, my brothers, and patience, my sons. In that sweet and final hour, truth and justice will be done." :)
Well honestly I understand where Steve was coming from. To think just anyone can do Beaker because all he did was "meep" is an underestimating and misunderstanding of the character, in my opinion. Steve was absolutely valid in saying he felt unsure of what Richard's motivations had been behind...
Yeah, I mean, I'd rather than no new Muppets if the quality isn't where it should be. I guess that was the same rationale behind the cancelling of Little Muppet Monsters.
(Note: I'm not citing anyone involved in this special in particular, since I didn't get to see it yet).
It's very interesting how some people are saying it didn't sound right and others are saying it sounded more like Jim's Kermit. I will have to take a moment to see this so I can contribute to the debate, hehe.
How true that is, heh. I do think all forms of art eventually do hit their prime and then don't quite reach it again. It wouldn't be magic if it happened everyday. Not that they should stop trying, but I do think they will be very hard pressed to repeat their truly classic work.
Aw thanks, no problem. I mean we've all had moments where we get annoyed and say things we shouldn't. And I'm definitely not picking on anyone in particular. It's just important to take a step back sometimes and remember what they said on Muppet Babies, "Be careful, words can hurt." ;)
Well the thing is women get degrading labels pinned on them more than men and society just lets it go or encourages us to laugh and ridicule.
I think the "ice cream" incident in question was somewhat inappropriate too, but I just won't get into name calling.
Not arguing with anyone or...
Nice interview, thanks for sharing!
Hehe, that's kind of funny considering we have this huge thread about "What scared you on Sesame Street!" :insatiable:
It's a shame they did end up moving away from that. Though at least the new website has the classic clips. The Internet is the future...
Oh definitely, in fact I've shared the speech with two groups I've belonged to and they've both been amazed and tell me how much it inspired them in their lives. :)
I'm sure there are too. But if you live in a disadvantaged area, you don't always have better choices handed to you. People who are lucky enough to live in more middle class communities don't always understand the trials working class people have to face.
I do agree with you that Sesame...
