FAIL.
Okay, that is understandable. A bit ironic considering Big Bird actually IS a full-body costume and all we have here is a furry yellow vest and a headpiece. Even then, the headpiece I actually like, it seems difficult to replicate Big Bird in merchandise form (Example from life: when I was a kid...
I think you guys are a bit too hard on the SS costumes. I wore the Super Grover costume made as part of that line for Halloween this past year and, while the back is very sensitive (it's only fastened with velcro), it's an incredibly well-made costume and looks a lot better in person than it...
For everyone's reference...

Maybe it's just because my computer is being incredibly weird but it doesn't look like www.muppetnewsflash.com is working anymore. What's going on? Is the site gone for good?

Uh... wow. :smirk:
Does anybody else it find it ironic that for once something Mokey-related gets made and it's ridiculously ugly?
Yeah, I really like these. The street sign is probably my favorite one though they are all wonderful to look at. I'll be bound to pick one up in March.
By the way, Jim, I should say that I heavily enjoyed Muppets Tonight regardless of the balancing act ABC put the writers on. It really is a shame that it never caught on the way it should have.
But I digress, there have been a ton of projects that the Hensons announced but never got the funds...
A little bit. There was a sing-along video, a set of stuffed animals based on characters in the movie (Bug, Grizzy, Elmo holding his blanket and maybe Oscar), a bunch of fast food toys (Arby's and Sbarro) and a couple other things. Nothing too major but there was a lot more than compared to...
The 2005 DVD of MTI (Kermit's 50th Anniversary edition) does contain a widescreen version of the movie as well as a pan-and-scan version. The menus with Gonzo and Rizzo are also retained. Unfortunately, none of the bonus features are ported over for the newer DVD. There is one mockumentary...
It's often been said about Muppets Tonight that the writers had a bit of a hard time balancing the sitcom-like backstage plots with the variety show format of The Muppet Show. Looking back on the show now, what do you think worked better for Muppets Tonight?
Yeah, EIG was filming summer '98 into that winter on a lot in North Carolina and MFS starting filming on the same lot just before Elmo went into post-production.
Yyyyeaaaahhhh, that's not happening.
The closest we can get with it now is probably 2012, which would be perfect to go with the 30th anniversary of the first movie. I'm assuming that it's part of the distribution deal with the Weinstein Co. Maybe they'll pull a MFS/EIG thing and shoot both...
Really? I did not know that! But yeah, Spencer's has a ton of great Muppet and Sesame stuff I haven't seen anywhere else in a store. Disney started re-making the classic Kermit "face" shirt and Spencer's is the only place I've found it ever. Lots of great hats of Kermit heads (it's even furry!)...
