Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
This is awesome! Seeing the cover alone made my jaw drop. Seeing all these properties together in 2010 is just incredible. Hopefully, this means that we could see re-releases of Emmet Otter and Christmas Toy with the Frog intact come Christmastime and maybe Muppet Family Christmas this year or...
I notice nobody seems to be trading around here anymore. Granted, with KermiClown and YouTube have pretty much made trading obsolete but I just wanted to get some trades in before I leave for college in August, just to get a feel of it again. Would anybody be up for trading? I can get anyone a...
Sounds pretty good but I hate to be a pessimist, but knowing the Henson track record, I don't think we'll hear much else. But this really does have potential.
Got the DVD in the mail the other day, it's always a great special to watch and it's great being able to upgrade from a glitchy VHS to DVD. I can actually see the Uprights' faces, all this time I thought they were in the shadows the whole special! :)
And another odd "small world" thing, I was...
This a great and unexpected surprise for multiple reasons...
1. The Hensons still own this special? I never would have thought that, I'd think Sesame Workshop got this when Henson sold them the SST Muppets. Guess I was wrong.
2. KERMIT ON A LIONSGATE RELEASED DVD! Could this mean good things...
Grover was just on FG in a cutaway mere seconds ago... and he was nominated for an Oscar, but lost to "a red guy" thanks to Peter stuffing the votes. :super:

"I got to puppeteer Grover in several scenes in the palace -- no key scenes, of course, just background stuff and one large group dance scene."
Well, it looks like Grover had multiple puppeteers in this one. :super:
In the time that Pixar has been a part of Disney, John Lasseter has taken the reins at much of Disney's animation and theme park properties quite forcefully to great results. Has Lasseter had any involvement with the Muppets since the merger?
I temporarily changed my Facebook so it looked like ALF had hijacked my Facebook. All my statuses were facts about Melmac and eating cats, my profile picture was ALF and my favorite movies and TV shows were all 80s stuff. It was awesome talking to people as ALF and them being all confused. :D
My cousin just started working at LionsGate a month ago and I was just talking to her on the phone asking if she could tell me anything about any upcoming Henson releases and she pretty much was able to find info on all the LionsGate releases for the remainder of the year.
First off, the first...
In case nobody knows, these things are availible online at SW's website.

I'm going to order a street sign one a little later but there out now. Let's enjoy them! :super:
The news item says we can expect a behind-the-Scenes Gallery, Original Concept Art, "and more!" So who knows what we'll get besides that. It seems fairly comprehensive though compared to say, the Song of the Cloud Forest DVD.
Dog City coming to DVD? And with Rowlf not cut? Yay! Lionsgate is just on a roll, it's great that they are getting all this stuff out there that Sony and HIT never thought of putting on DVD. :sympathy:
I'm confused, are these artists going to write songs for the film or contributing their own work to the soundtrack?
Either way, I wouldn't mind Lady Gaga or Weird Al being involved with the film. We all know Lady Gaga loves the Muppets a lot and must know the Fraggles well enough to want to do...
Totally agreed, Drtooth. When I was younger I was always a bit upset that Mopatop never made it's way to the US, it looks like a nice little show.
I'd honestly want Lions Gate to release season sets of The Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss myself. I didn't know Sony had put out a large number of...
I consider Bear more of a 90's Henson show since it started in 1997. I have no problems with Bear, it's just not my personal favorite Henson show.
As for The Hoobs, we'll just wait and see.
Eh, I might buy this sooner or later. I've never actually seen the show, but tend to avoid non-Muppet/SST productions from the 2000's but do want to check out the UK-only Henson shows.
But, again, this is a great effort from Lionsgate for the Henson shows. Lionsgate > HIT.
