The Bible and Love and Christians

I don't disagree at all. But why is it built into us? That was my question from before. I'm not trying to prove anything, just honestly asking, how does it end up that we're inherently good and have the same basic ideal of what that means? They also have found their way into secular...

The Bible and Love and Christians

Yeah good point, that makes sense. I've known people like that too. People are quite capable of justifying nonesense with no help from religion. ;) Right and by the same token, they're not supposed to be analyzed so deeply. They're not novels, they're short stories used as parallels to...

The Bible and Love and Christians

Well you're right that it isn't that hard in itself, but I think people let things get in the way. Like their own pride, wanting to be successful and on top and not admit they're wrong. Or their fears and insecurities. Everybody's in pain and everybody's desperate for a way to make it go away...

The Bible and Love and Christians

But what about athiests who have prejudices (they do exist), where does that come from? Not trying to be rude, just continuing the conversation. :) There's no stalemate, obviously human beings created the Christian Bible. The authors were human and by the way, so was Jesus. ;) I get what...

The Bible and Love and Christians

I think people do understand. That's what is meant by "the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak." People want to do the right thing, but the right way is always the harder way. It's easier to give into anger and selfishness and cruelty. We associate being a good person with light and pretty...

The Bible and Love and Christians

Well yeah, if you're looking for perfection in humanity, you're always going to be disapointed. All we can offer is people trying their best, for better or for worse. The Golden Rule is not easy and it's no wonder most of us try to weasle out of it so to speak, heh. It's just amazing to me that...

What if the New Muppet Movie's Villain had a Muppet Sidekick?

You're right, the basic idea is that the public needs reminding. :) You know that's a good point, will be interesting to see how that ends up!

The Bible and Love and Christians

Ok I remember Religion class in middle school, we were learning the chapter on World Religions. Our textbook pointed out that every major religion has some form of the "do unto others as you would have them do unto you." I personally find that fascinating, not only because the major religions...

What if the New Muppet Movie's Villain had a Muppet Sidekick?

Well that's your interpretation of their theme. The movie hasn't even come out yet. ;) Another interpretation is that the public noticed that the movies and projects in the 1990s weren't what they should have been. Recognizing quality entertainment that was hugely successful and has stood the...

    Sesame Street Character Voice Comparisons

I don't know, to me Telly seems mostly non-stop excited now, rather than a range of emotions. Pretty much all the characters on modern Sesame Street are non-stop excited now, and not much else. He felt like a more complex character as a worrier. Just my own opinion. ;)

What if the New Muppet Movie's Villain had a Muppet Sidekick?

I think when it comes down to it the JH-era Muppets and the Post JH-era Muppets are very different in a lot of ways, and their respective fans aren't always going to agree. I'd be more worried if Segal lacked knowledge of the Jim Henson era. ;) I do think Pepe is funny at times and has...

Funny... I Don't Feel Like a Pessimistic Bull...

Yeah I don't really buy into astrology, but I won't be too critical of people who are, since I know there's plenty of people who are cynical of my spiritual beliefs. ;) I actually my original sign (Taurus) described me pretty well, stuborn and need for perfection. But...hmm...I can kind of see...

    I miss the real Kermit

Definitely, some of my favorite Kermit moments are him getting grumpy and dryly frustrated with all the crazies around him, lol. I think with Letters to Santa they were trying to get back to being more kid friendly after going way too far in the tasteless direction with previous projects. But...

    Sesame Street Character Voice Comparisons

I actually liked the early Telly better as the more toned down neurotic who had a slightly unhealthy friendship with Oscar who was always pushing him around, lol.
