aww, thanks sarah! :p Yeah I miss posting at 3 in the morning, heh. Good to see you and others are still on MC! Im hoping for some squishy fun news this summer(Muppetfest announcement, Fox show news? etc)
Yeah, I had no idea how much down the toilet financially Disney is going...I knew creatively its been in the toilet for awhile...
but in a summer where everything from Matrix 2, Xmen 2, and T3 will run wild...Disney's animated efforts are nowhere to be seen(well, save Pixar who I dont count as...
Well I know Rivkin might have been out if Valentine, Disney or whoever bought the company...but I personally think he is *exactly* who the franchise needs to head them up. I woul dbe very sad to not have Rivkin heading up the company, had a buyout taken place. Ive met the guy, and *believe* me...
That is true now that I think about it. I mean, geez look at Elmo...that ended up not being such a good thing for the Muppet name as far as the public backlash. And yeah, the Winnie th ePooh thing is a good example. There needs to be a balance. Just a couple years ago you were hard pressed to...
Your handle says NY, he was appearing far away from you tho?
A friend had sent me the URL to where all the dates were listed. It was mostly big cities I guess.
Though, I have a feeling Muppetfest will be in your neck of the woods if it happens again...
Hey thanks! Gosh, I cant believe it has been 3 months already, hmmm. Yes, zanyness is always needed^_^;;
Hopefully we will see some old timers again soon as well.
Mind boggling Muppet news always seems to bring em back even just for a pop in.
LOL! Oh it is so funny you mention WWF, as when I first got my bird she *hated* the WWF(when I was last really into it 97-98)
She would just turn her whole body away from the tv when it came on. Now she enjoys watching tv, heck she loves watching Saturday Morning cartoons with me...but...
Aw, but one has to wonder about long term preservation...already I cant go anywhere without being reminded of the Muppets(Sesame or Muppet Show) be it at the mall or grocery store. I had begun to almost side with a Disney buyout for this very reason, a new Muppet mnainstream boom...but I have...
Um, sort of...not entirely. It's more that she has the attention span of a 2 year old, so unless there is singing and dancing and early on she gets antsy. Come to think of it, Im not sure if she has sat through anything in its entirity of great length. Didnt you mention you had a bird too?
Oh she cant even really sit through the long opening to the actual KSY movie, but she loves the Joe the Armadillo segments.
She of course also only likes the first 15 minutes of MFS. I'd say she has a pretty good barometer on things;)
Re: Re: Re: I'm with Beaker
Heh, well I never really believed he was truly going to be allowed to finalize. But man, to think how *close* we came to a Disney buyout, ack! :eek:
I was just curious whose pets on here are Muppet fans? Sounds a bit peculair?
In late 90's I noticed whenever I had the Muppet block of programming on Nick Jr(Muppet Babies, Muppet Show, Andy and Randy) my bird Kiwi would always really perk up and get all excited. I soon noticed this wasnt...
Heh, yeah I'm in there a few times(cory) My mom went with me to Muppetfest(she even got in for free which rocked), and is very excited to go with me to the Spinney thing in Berkeley...so yes, very exciting times!
Re: I'm with Beaker
Oh my, it is like a glorious chorus in this thread! Indeed, we can get caught up in our grown up lives, geo political upheaival and turmoil on the news, cynicism...but it all goes back to basic tenets echoed before...JH's quote about making the world a better place...
All I know, is the Muppets are back where they belong! We can talk about strong backing and all...but let us bask in this honeymoon celebrational phase and enjoy the moment^_^;;
Same here...it always seems right when we are debating or worrying about something, right when we least expect it Henson makes a press statement that sends us all running to change our collective shorts ^_^;;
Wow...I just read Scott's story and pictures, and am very touched. Thog's story was also cool. Mmm, yeah I hope to se more of these stories here!
I am *so* excited about being able to go next Friday. For some reason everywhere I went today, I was reminded of Sesame Street and Oscar. Someone...
Holy canole, one of my favorite children's books of all time(next to Grover and the whole wide world book) Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs is getting turned into an animated feature film from Sony!
"The children's book CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS is also in development at Sony...
